Part Two
Prismark1021 August 2020
If Christopher Jefferies was a suspect because he looked weird. At least someone in the police force thought that a younger man who went abroad should be a bigger suspect.

One thing is clear and Jefferies noted it in the second part. Never assist the police or you will become a suspect.

The second part soon shift to be another type of drama. Now the real murderer facing trial. Jefferies hires a libel lawyer who takes on the malicious newspaper stories.

That looked like a no contest once Jefferies ceased to be a suspect. More importantly Jefferies also took part in the Lord Leveson enquiry into newspaper hacking.

There is a comical scene where Jefferies does not recognise comic Steve Coogan who plays himself in this drama.

I did catch Jefferies talking about press intrusion in the news at the time. I was shocked how different he looked. Now with a new hairstyle, Jefferies actually looked much younger even though he was now proudly bald.

The drama does lose impetus once it moves away from the criminal inquiry. of course the newspapers paid out millions in compensation but nothing was done to curb the worse of their behaviour.

Jason Watkins does well to catch the mannerisms and eccentricities of Jefferies. However once Watkins has the new hair do, it felt less Jefferies and more Watkins.
