This Brazilian crime drama is centred on André Câmara a former policeman. He has just got out of prison after being falsely accused of corruption. He is determined to clear his name but it won't be easy; his family and former colleagues want nothing to do with him. He is approached by Chief Lopes who has a job offer; finding people who don't necessarily want to be found. Over the course of the series he looks for a variety of people in 'case of the week' stories while always trying to find people who can prove his innocence. If that weren't enough he is also involved with his brother's wife, Kátia, and his brother is understandably displeased.
In the UK this series was retitled 'Tainted'; presumably because the 'Walter Presents' strand already had a French series titled 'The Hunter'. It isn't the best series Walter has brought us but it is still pretty solid. There is plenty of tension in each episode and each individual case is interesting and varied. As we approach the end the sense of danger increases nicely. Cauã Reymond does a solid job as André making it easy to believe in his character; the rest of the cast are solid too; most notably Cléo Pires as Kátia and Aílton Grace as Lopes. As one might expect from such a series there is a fair amount of violence; there is also some sex and nudity. Overall a pretty good series which I'd recommend to fans of the genre.
