Unlike the riveting-to-watch characters in her Emmy-nominated Netflix dark comedy series “Dead to Me,” show creator Liz Feldman doesn’t seem to be intent on cutting anything out of her life. Instead, she’s adding to it with a 1920’s Spanish Revival-style house in Los Feliz she purchased in early April from screenwriter and producer Adam Sztykiel for nearly $4.8 million.
Sztykiel (“Rampage,” “Made of Honor,” “Due Date” and the “upcoming “Black Adam” starring Dwayne Johnson) and his wife, “Atomic Moms” podcaster Ellie Knaus, bought the historic property in 2017 for about $3.6 million and placed the house on the market in 2020, as Dirt previously reported. That means the couple netted about $1.2 million from the sale, prior to closing costs and taxes.

When then-cbs TV Studios head of drama Julie McNamara was named Evp and head of Original Content for CBS All Access in June 2016, she brought with her VP Danny Feldheim and a junior executive. The trio oversaw the streamer’s initial original slate, which consisted of three series, Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Fights and No Activity.
For most of the past three and a half years, McNamara kept a lean programming team as CBS All Access’ original lineup grew from three shows to more than 14 planned to air in 2020. And while she says that “we didn’t want it any other way,” in light of of the programming ramp-up, McNamara is expanding her Original Content team.

Exclusive: UK talent agency InterTalent, run by Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, is reshuffling its TV presenting division following the departure of a number of senior agents.
Deadline understands that a number of agents have left the company over the last few months, leading to changes in representation for a handful of its top stars.
Grant Michaels, who previously ran InterTalent Rights, and Rebecca Johnson are among the agents who have left the agency in recent months, with the pair setting up Encanta Talent Management.
Their departure means that stars including Judge Rinder host Robert Rinder and First Dates star Fred Siriex will now be co-represented by Encanta as well as InterTalent.
Separately, rising star Clara Amfo, who hosts a show on BBC Radio One and presented Top of the Pops on BBC One, has moved to Ymu Group, the company formerly known as James Grant Group.

After we quickly binged our way through season one of the highly addictive Netflix Original Series “Dead To Me” we were certainly left “dying” to know just what happened to Jen and Judy once the final credits rolled.
We have now learned that “Dead To Me” has been renewed for season two and creator Liz Feldman will serve as showrunner and executive producer on season two as well. Also, stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini will also be returning to the series as Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini).
Jessica Elbaum from Gloria Sanchez Productions, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay of Gary Sanchez Productions as well as Christie Smith and Christina Applegate will serve as executive producers.
“Dead To Me” is produced by CBS Television Studios for Netflix. There is no official word on when we can expect season two to air, however, we are definitely on the edge of our seats awaiting additional news.

“I can tell you that we have just found out that ‘Dead to Me’ has been picked up for season two,” said series creator Liz Feldman during a June 3 Netflix Fysee campaign event. “And I start writing it on Wednesday!” She and lead actors Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini were on hand to discuss the series and its future. Watch them above.
The Netflix dramedy premiered on May 3, exactly one month before its renewal announcement. It stars Applegate and Cardellini as women who form a friendship after meeting at a grief support group, but whose connection is quickly revealed to be quite a bit more complicated than that. “I think what I can promise you is that in season two there will be more crying,” says Feldman, who will return as showrunner. Applegate and Cardellini will be back too, as will executive producers Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Christie Smith and Applegate herself.

When Liz Feldman walked into the pitch meeting that led to the creation of “Dead to Me,” Netflix’s new dark comedy series starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, she had nothing to contribute — or so she thought.
“I had just turned 40, and on my 40th birthday, very unexpectedly and sadly, my cousin passed away. He was not much older than me. So I was in a weird, dark place. I was, at that point, on my 5th or 6th year of trying to get pregnant, and I was on fertility hormones. I was grieving,” Feldman told TheWrap. “And here I am now at this pitch meeting, and they’re asking me if I have anything for two women, and I just — something just kind of popped into my brain,” she says.
Then came a “Eureka!” moment.
“I was like, ‘One of them is a widow, and she meets the...

Dead to Me, starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini is poised to be another hit for Netflix.
The streamer unveiled the first official trailer for the series, and we have a lot of thoughts.
Dead to Me follows two women, Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini), who become friends after meeting at a grief support group.
Jen is wary of Judy at first but agrees to let her live in her guesthouse, because, well, that's what you do for people you don't know.
The plot thickens when it emerges that Jen's new friend is not who she seems, and is harboring some dark secrets.
Jen is blinded by her quest to find the hit and run driver who killed her husband, and Judy just so happens to understand what Jen is going through.
There's a lot to unpack from the trailer, but we'll leave some surprises for you!

The story is like the short-lived sitcom One Big Happy starring Elisha Cuthbert as a lesbian woman carrying her male best friend's baby, only with more same-sex sexy time and less morning sickness. According to Deadline, Wing Person is about a “co-dependent relationship between a lesbian lothario and her cautious, straight male best friend.” So basically the straight man is playing "the straight man." You're welcome, Ed! That one's on us.

Three episodes were provided prior to broadcast.
On paper, planting Craig Robinson as the star of his own sitcom in which he shenanigan-izes his way into teaching public school kids music isn’t a bad idea. Robinson has proven his mettle along with the likes of Seth Rogen and Danny McBride in movies like This Is The End, and the tease of seeing his shtick once a week is endearing.
NBC’s Mr. Robinson, however, is not. It’s one of the most weak, formulaic and downright offensively unfunny sitcoms to come along in quite some time. It sticks Robinson in a lead role that’s so spick-and-span clean he’s reduced to becoming what I’d imagine Chef from South Park would end up like on the Disney Channel, and it doesn’t even have the decency to light a fire under its star with snappy dialogue.

In a bid to possibly save time and audience confusion, Stark Sands will no longer play both precog twins in Minority Report…
An interesting logistical change here – Stark Sands' dual roles in the Minority Report TV series, as precog twins Dash and Arthur, has now been halved.
Instead, Inside Llewyn Davis alum Stark Sands just plays Arthur, with Nick Zano (seen in 2009’s The Final Destination, as well as recent Us TV series One Big Happy) stepping in to play his brother, Dash. The relationship between the brothers has changed from that of identical twins to fraternal twins.
Here's a picture of Nick Zano:
The reasons for this change haven’t been announced, but it seems fairly likely that saving time and money, as well as minimising the opportunity for audience confusion, probably played a part.

2011's R-rated raunchy-sports-comedy-with-a-heart-of-gold Goon is the latest comedy to be getting a sequel. And while law of averages are not in its favor when it comes to comedy sequels, Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Liev Schreiber and Alison Pill are all set to return and throw around hockey pucks as much as they do certain four-letter words in Goon: Last of the Enforcers. Joining them inside the ice rink, however, is Elisha Cuthbert. The "24" and Girl Next Door star joins the movie to play Pill's outlandish sister. Pill plays Eva, the love interest to rising hockey star Doug "The Thug" Glatt (Scott). This new movie finds Doug and his team, Halifax Highlanders, working with a variety of new players during a pro lockout. So it looks like Cutherbert isn't the only newbie in the Goon universe, and with production to begin on June 21 in Toronto under producers David Gross, Jesse Shapira and Jeff Arkuss,...

NBC still has "Big" plans for Ellen DeGeneres. One day after dumping DeGeneres' struggling freshman comedy "One Big Happy," NBC has ordered eight episodes of the comedy/variety show "Little Big Shots" from DeGeneres and Steve Harvey. The hour-long showcase will be hosted by Harvey and will feature "the world's most talented and extraordinary kids." The press release mentions "pint-sized breakdancers" and "5-year-old piano virtuosos" and says that these exceptional children will performance and also go head-to-head with Harvey in conversations and interviews. The release also adds "These phenomenal kids show us once and for all that talent is born, not made," which may just be an effort to make Malcolm Gladwell's head explode. In addition to DeGeneres and Harvey, "Little Big Shots" will be executive produced by Jeff Kleeman and Gerald Washington for Warner Horizon Television, East 112th Street Productions and A Very Good Production. And then there was only one. On Friday (May 8), NBC officially cancelled "About a Boy," "Marry Me" and "One Big Happy," leaving "Undateable" as the network's only hope to avoid going into the 2015-2016 season without a single returning comedy. [There's some pretty wild, if not implausible speculation out there about the nature of a potential third "Undateable" season and I've been told it's nowhere close to locked down. That doesn't mean it won't happen. It just means that I'm trying to be professional and only report things I can confirm and I can't confirm a darned thing about "Undateable," which is good news in this case.] Neither "About a Boy" nor "Marry Me" has aired since February and even with many/most of their airings boosted by "The Voice," neither had the numbers to generate much of a renewal conversation. "Marry Me" averaged 3.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 -- again, boosted by "The Voice" -- while "About a Boy" slipped to 3.5 million viewers and a 1.0 key demo rating in its second season. This is "About a Boy" showrunner Jason Katims' second series to end on NBC this year after the slightly-more-planned close to "Parenthood."
