- Gibson realises that her mistakes have put the life of witness Rose Stagg in danger. Desperate to save Rose's life, she steps up the police investigation as serial killer Paul Spector continues to stalk Belfast's streets.
- Spector abducts Rose Stagg, bundling her into the boot of a car. Stella is concerned when Rose fails to arrive for her interview and goes to the Staggs' house where Rose's little girl tells her that a man called Peter was there the previous night. Having informed his unimpressed wife that he is back from Scotland Spector arranges to meet Katie who anticipates sex but he again menaces her to keep away from his family. As, in his role as a counsellor, he supports Annie - who is obviously unaware of who he is - Stella finds the scissors that killed Annie's brother, with Spector's prints on them. She is now certain that he is the serial killer, particularly after she gets a call from 'Peter' on Rose's phone.—don @ minifie-1
- Having seen a police sketch of himself in the the newspaper Paul pays a visit to Rose Stagg, convinced she is the one who provided the information. He forces her to accompany him and takes her to a remote location. He then poses as a grief counselor and manages to get past the police to see Annie Brawley in the hospital. The next one on his list is former babysitter Katie who agrees to meet him at a hotel. When Rose doesn't appear for her scheduled interview, DSupt. Gibson realizes she may have put her in danger. While interviewing Rose's husband Tom, their young daughter Nancy tells them that a man named Peter visited the house during the night. Gibson gets some good news when the lab confirms the scissors they found in the water has a partial fingerprint.—garykmcd
