Leading out of that, Candy Crush (2.3 mil/0.5) matched last week’s prelim numbers, going up against Game of Thrones‘ Xl season finale.

We’re guessing Karen Walker is going to be anything but speechless when she catches wind of the latest Will & Grace casting news.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Minnie Driver — who made six appearances as Karen’s acid-tongued nemesis-turned-stepdaughter Lorraine Finster during the NBC sitcom’s original eight-season run — will reprise her role in the Peacock net’s forthcoming 16-episode revival. Driver is slated to guest-star in one episode, production of which begins this week.

Amazon has unveiled the first trailer for its new series Comrade Detective, and while I think a lot of you are really going to dig this show, it might be a little too niche for mainstream audiences. It’s being presented as a long-lost, hard-boiled Romanian cop show from the 1980s that’s recently been found and restored […]

Amazon and A24 may have just genetically engineered a television show that perfectly aligns with my sensibilities. Comrade Detective, which debuts later this summer, is being made to look like a Romanian cop show from the 1980s, with Romanian actors Florin Piersic Jr. and Corneliu Ulici playing the lead roles. But here’s the part that will make people raise their eyebrows: Channing Tatum […]

It’s been awhile since we last checked in on L/Studio, the platform that once hosted hit series like Web Therapy and Cop Show, but the Lexus-branded outlet is still chugging along. Now in its eighth year, it continues to distribute new programs, the latest of which is Film to Table, a cooking show that recreates iconic dishes from movies.
Film to Table features host Jason Roberts as its chef de cuisine. In each episode, he will pick out and cook up his favorite movie foods, with special guests stopping by to add both figurative and literal flavor to his dishes. Up first is ramen, with Roberts and guest Haroon Adalat teaming up to analyze the Japanese comedy Tampopo, which is set in a ramen shop and has been called “one of the best food movies of all time.”

Let’s face it, Every TV cop show that has ever had the word “blue” in its title has been great. Remember “ Hill Street Blues”, “NYPD Blue”, “Rookie Blue”, or “Shades of Blue”? All great television cop dramas, but none of them was ever quite as good as “Blue Bloods”. The show’s first air date was September 24, 2010, and it’s still going strong today. If we’re lucky, it’ll be one show that never gets canceled. One can only hope, right? The writing is phenomenal, the sets so realistic that you feel like you’re there, the directing sublime, the action

After the frustrated cry of disappointment in response to Netflix’s Fuller House, Stephen Colbert offered his Full House Nights sketch may have just fulfilled some of the unmet expectations. Full House Nights featured all our favorite Full House dads as detectives. Bob Saget and John Stamos portray a more classic good cop-bad cop routine, while Dave Coulier targets his suspect with the more innovative “impressionist” cop. […]

NYC Web Fest is approaching quickly, and it promises a great look at new web series and digital content. The 2nd annual event, which celebrates digital series and creators from around the globe, will host the world premiere of comedian Lewis Black’s The Mentors series, among other notable online video projects.
Taking place from November 13-14 at the Pit Loft at 154 West 29th Street, NYC Web Fest will be where The Mentors makes its worldwide debut. The six-part The Mentors is described in a release as a “dark and comical portrayal of mentorships in the entertainment business,” which are loosely based on real-life experiences. A panel involving some of the series’ cast and crew will follow the series’ screening.
In an email to Tubefilter, NYC Web Fest founder Lauren Atkins explained how she had previously only dreamed of debuting such a top-level web series at such a young event.

You may not have heard of the new web series Cop Show, but something tells us that the comedy is going to pick up steam very soon.
Available to stream on the L Studio, it combines the format and deadpan wit of The Office with the laugh out loud absurdity of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Written by and starring Colin Quinn, the series offers a mockumentary style look at a fictitious police procedural show. Poking fun at the entertainment industry, its appeal lies in its wacky and out of touch characters.
Among the many reasons to watch Cop Show are the constant stream of high profile guest stars that include everyone from Amy Schumer to Jerry Seinfeld, who was recently on hand to support Quinn during the show’s NY premiere at Caroline’s comedy club. The legendary comedian spoke about the shift in TV viewing since his legendary show was on the air,...
