Sarah Silverman first gained recognition as a writer and featured player on Saturday Night Live, though she only spent one season on the show. She was a featured performer on the HBO sketch comedy show Mr. Show and wrote and performed a series of independent projects. In 2005, she released her comedy show, Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic, based on her one-woman show of the same name. She also played bit parts in movies and TV shows including Seinfeld, There's Something About Mary, and School of Rock. In 2007, her sitcom, The Sarah Silverman Program, debuted on Comedy Central, portraying the everyday adventures of fictionalized versions of Silverman, her sister Laura and their friends. The show ended after three seasons and Silverman went on to create a viral video called "I'm Fucking Matt Damon," in which she and Matt Damon sung about having an affair, betraying Silverman's then-boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel. Silverman won an Emmy for Outstanding Music and Lyrics and a Creative Arts Emmy for the song. In 2010, she wrote a comic memoir, The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee. In 2012, Silverman voiced Vanellope von Schweetz, a main character in Disney's film Wreck-It Ralph. She's also part of the creative team that writes and produces YouTube comedy channel JASH, with Michael Cera, Reggie Watts, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. This year she won an Emmy for her HBO variety special We Are Miracles.
