This movie lured me in with its rather interesting cover art. And truth be told, I am a sucker for everything zombie. So of course, I had to sit down and watch the 2014 movie titled "Beautiful People" from writer and director Brini Amerigo.
While this is definitely a zombie movie, it was not one of the more astounding or memorable zombie movies. It was watchable, sure, but it was a slow movie, and it took a long, long time before things got interesting. In fact, it took so long that I thought this was just a home intrusion movie.
And when things finally did happen, the movie ended. So that was sort of anti-climatic.
The zombie make-up in the movie was adequate, just a shame that it was only in the last quarter of the movie that things took off and you got to see the zombies. Well, aside from the deformed face, which was so obviously just a latex mask. But hey, it worked out well enough.
The storyline in "Beautiful People" wasn't particularly impressive. And truth be told, it was actually the news footage montage as the movie ended that had the most punch and impact to it.
I am rating "Beautiful People" a four out of ten stars. While it is a zombie movie, it is one that came and went without a moan or a bite.
