Sex & Nudity

  • No sex or nudity.
  • However, the details of a rape are discussed in a technical context, with references to the vagina, the anus and the rectum being made, the victim being eight years old.

Violence & Gore

  • The scene of a crime includes a little girl with multiple bruises on her exposed arms and small amounts of blood on her hands, along with signs of altercation and blood on the carpet. The other parts of her body including her face are obscured. In the hospital emergency room, her battered face, blood-stained hands and feet can be seen. After surgery, one eye is covered in bandages and the other can barely open.
  • She had been badly beaten all over her body and injured in the process of being raped.
  • Apart from these horrific images of a child covered in bruises, lacerations and blood, there is no further gore, but the horrific details of other damage inflicted is referenced.
  • Some medical professionals discuss the scope of the injuries to the girl, that the computed tomographic scan of the girl shows many cuts and lacerations along her rectum and colon, and that the surgeons may have to remove parts of not only her large intestine but her small intestine as well.
  • The surgeon informs that the girl needs immediate surgery in order for her to survive.
  • As for onscreen violence, in one scene, a man angrily hurls a shoe at another man, striking the other man's back. In another scene, a man readies an expandable baton as his team prepares to raid another man's domicile. No further violence is depicted.

Profanity

  • In one scene, terms that translate respectively to "bastard" and "son of a bitch" are shouted.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • An empty bottle (presumably for liquor) is shown rolling along a street, a drunken character is depicted, and there are references to drinking, intoxication and alcoholism, even the idea of drunk driving. No consumption of alcoholic beverages is depicted; and there is no drugs or smoking, or references thereto.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The scene in which the father rushes to shield his daughter from and elude news reporters is somewhat intense. In the commotion of whisking her away and up a flight of stairs, the colostomy bag is ruptured or detached, leaks and continues to leak as she is laid in a secluded hospital bed. The panicking father hurriedly tries to wipe away the bile or liquid waste seeping onto the bed, even going so far as to attempt to clean his daughter's soiled gown and even her body, pulling at the gown, as she cries and pleads, "no!" / "stop!" / "go away!", given how the experience for her is all too reminiscent of the traumatic attack from which she is still recovering. After quitting this, the father cries too because he is so sad.
  • The prelude to the brutal attack upon the girl is somewhat frightening if not suspenseful.
  • There are numerous very emotional scenes and a couple of disturbing dialogs, but they are not particularly frightening or intense.
