The game played by Jubilee and Roberto and its different levels (with Magneto as Final Boss) is inspired in the arcade video game X-Men (1992), created by Konami.
The digital copy of Jubilee is voiced by her voice actress from the original series, thus giving a deeper meta gravitas to the "older" Jubilee giving advice to the '97 version.
When Jubilee and Roberto enter Mojo's first game, X-Men: The Rise of Jubilee, the graphics pan down an orange wall and a poster appears. This poster is an '80s/'90s video-game-graphics version of the poster from the classic cover of X-Men #141. All of the heroes can clearly be made out in their original placement, with Cyclops in the upper left-hand corner.
The Motendo game console in Jubilee's room is designed after the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. The game cartridge uses artwork similar to that of the game X-Men (1993) by Sega.
The three TV shows mentioned in the video game are parodies of shows from the '80s and '90s. Northstar also appears in the cast of Different World.
