The Tea drinkers!!!!
winsim6931 January 2024
What I love the most about this "mini-series" is the tea drinking. Throughout the story, there are two friends that tend to be present at different events, places, venues, etc... You'll hear them speaking to one another and/or some other person involved with the main characters about what is presently occurring or giving some background information necessary to the storyline. Their names are Betty and Bernard. Betty has a pink teacup and saucer, while Bernard has a green one. No matter where they are they always have them ready to sip during and after giving commentary or observing a pivotal moment. It's the funniest thing ever!!!! Love it!!

This one had it all!

Warning: Spoilers
The slow mo hero entrances where the leading male is constantly adjusting his cuffs, the reactionary chest twitch of the best friend bar owner, cigar smoking villan, the over the top plot, this one had it all! The absolute best part of the movie was the tea drinkers! They were reacting on screen like I was in my living room. The tea drinkers popped up throughout the movie and were absolute fun. If I was an extra in a movie with my best friend I imagine that is how I would be acting. "Play it cool- we're just two folk drinking in a bar" and then "Hot Damn!" I admit I was on the edge of my seat until Mr. Pickles made his appearance. This was a really fun guilty pleasure watch!

Grace Swanson and Jarred Harper Are A Delight
rocketfoot7 February 2024
These short serials are typically quite cheesy/hokey, but this romantic drama had no business being this good 😂

Was it still a bit silly at times? Of course. Did the story still pull me in? You bet! (Shoutout to the two hilarious tea drinkers in the background of scenes bringing the audience reaction in real time!)

Swanson and Harper have a GREAT chemistry. Out of all of the serial dramas I've caught the past few months, they have easily become my favorite two actors in the mix. They have enough gravitas to keep the story from getting too goofy.

Also, side note, can we talk about Jarred's EYES?! And that chiseled jawline! Good grief is that man handsome! (The bright purple suits were a choice... but hey it puts the spotlight on him in every scene, so I'm not complaining!)

The auxiliary characters were much better fleshed out than in most of these stories, and the dialog flowed more realistically.

I'm apparently a sucker for the billionaire saves the kind-hearted girl trope... who knew?

If you haven't taken the plunge into the world of short dramas, I highly recommend starting with this one. Grace Swanson also did a nice job with "True Luna" which I would recommend to anyone who prefers more fantasy elements.
