The tenth most-watched programme of the week, with 13.95 million viewers.
There's an unusually racy moment for the series in this era when Terry Wogan asks Christopher Biggins about Nero's mother. Biggins, having played the character in I, Claudius (1976), says "we did nasty things together". Terry tells him that they don't have to go into it, before Biggins apologies and says "family show". But after bypassing the subject of incest for a 7:55pm family audience, Terry then follows this up by saying "you'll be talking about your horse next".
