UK sales outfit Devilworks has acquired worldwide sales rights to Us documentary The Penguin Counters, directed and produced by Peter Getzels and Harriet Gordon Getzels.
The documentary follows a team of field biologists to some of the harshest corners of the planet where they track the impact of climate change and ocean health by counting penguin populations.
The deal excludes North America, where the film was released in April 2017 by First Run Features.
Devilworks president Samantha Richardson said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to represent The Penguin Counters. With a passion to tell great stories, Peter and Harriet flawlessly intertwine the gripping subject of climate change,with breathtaking cinematography, whilst remaining hopeful.”
Devilworks also acquired world rights to the biographical documentary Ken Foster. Directed by Josh Laner, it deals with the eponymous Vancouver street artist.

Narrated by Dominic West, the film from director Mark Donne explores tax avoidance in the UK and abroad.
The deal comes at a time of renewed interest in the subject following the recent Panama Papers scandal.
The film was scored by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Massive Attack’s Robert del Naja.
Devilworks has also continued its move into documentaries with the acquisition of Tribeca premiere Killing Them Safely.

Genre sales outfit Devilworks is heading to the European Film Market (Feb 11-19) in Berlin with Bigfoot horror Valley Of The Sasquatch, starring actor-director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte, whose well-received directorial debut As You Are recently premiered in Sundance where it won a Special Jury Award in the Us Dramatic strand.
John Portanova (The Invoking) wrote and directs the story of a fractured family battling against a tribe of angry Sasquatch, which is co-produced by Joris-Peyrafitte’s As You Are producer Brent Stiefel (Obvious Child).
The film played at a host of North American genre festivals last year, including Montreal Comiccon Horror Fest and the Chicago Paranormal Film Festival.
Additional cast includes David Saucedo (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), Bill Oberst Jr. (Resolution), Jason Vail (Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies) and D’Angelo Midili (The Invoking).

Well, that's what happened to the documentary "The UK Gold," with both BBC and Channel 4 refusing to run the movie. Copenhagen documentary festival Cph:dox has unveiled the programme for its 11th edition, which runs Nov 7-17.
More than 200 films will be screened including 57 world and international premieres; a new prize for journalistic documentaries called F:act Award; and curated programmes from artist Ai Weiwei and activist duo The Yes Men.
For the first time, the festival is introducing an overall theme: Everything is Under Control.
Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has selected 10 films for this year’s festival with the theme in mind, reflecting “artists’ role and responsibility towards the acts of the establishment”.
The festival will also screen the world premiere of Weiwei’s new film Stay Home!, about a 10-year old girl who is not allowed to receive medical care for her HIV-infection, as she is the second child in the family.
