This review contains spoilers.
Gravity Falls' twentieth episode of the first season is entitled "Gideon Rises". The episode is the conclusion to the first season of Gravity Falls. Grunkle Stan has lost the mystery shack to Gideon Gleeful. Gideon chases Dipper and Mable as they leave town in an attempt to retrieve a missing journal.
The final episode of the first season is a fantastic ending as more mysteries have been revealed. The episode has Mabel and Dipper going up against Gideon who was introduced early into the first season. Gideon is a great antagonist to the pair of Dipper and Mabel. The animation in this finale episode is well done with a mixture of two-dimensional and three-dimensional animations. The episode does get unbelievable with Gideon piloting a giant Gideon machine. This was still enjoyable and how Dipper and Mabel overcome Gideon's lies feels satisfying.
I would recommend "Gideon Rises", the season one finale of Gravity Falls.
Grade: B
Gravity Falls Season One
The first season of Gravity Falls premiered in 2012. The series follows two fraternal twins, Dipper and Mabel, as they live with their great uncle Stan in Gravity Falls, Oregon. The pair and staff at The Mystery Shack encounter many supernatural and strange anomalies in town. Dipper receives a journal that explains some of the supernatural encounters early in the show and he seeks to solve the mysteries.
The first season is a great introduction to the series. The series is a family-friendly animated television show that also has content for adults. This is the season's best feature as the content of each episode has comedy to offer for adult audiences. The comedic moments for the most part hit well and the animation has a lot to offer in appealing to children. The show has tense moments but it is not impossible for children to overcome.
The central mystery with the journals is introduced early and has the pair encountering the supernatural all while Dipper tries to find the author. This mystery unfolded towards the end and was a great arc in the season.
I would recommend Gravity Falls season one created by Alex Hirsch.
