- A young and confused man growing up in a world overrun by dragons learns he is "The Defender," the only person who can indeed kill dragons. He must travel far and wide to slay Deruin, the father of all dragons.
- We enter the story right as Conrad escapes a bloody battle between the deer folk, his allies, and the orcs, his enemies. He approaches a brothel. He is approached by two women, Clarellis and Yiniopolis, who he does not realize both have a clandestine agenda themselves.
When Conrad and the women step foot before a snake pit, Conrad's first obstacle, they reveal their malicious intentions and unfavorable feelings toward him before pushing him into the pit and fleeing. Conrad must fend for himself against a swarm of venomous and fierce snakes and find a way to escape the pit.
A new hero, Sir Nikolai approaches Conrad and offers help. His ego gets the best of him and he is attacked by a snake. He falls into the snake pit and to his death. Conrad grows frustrated and kills a handful of snakes in the pit, including a golden king cobra. With the help of his sword, Conrad pulls himself out of the hole and immediately faces his second obstacle, a duo of orcs. The foul monsters rush down a staircase, outside of a large tower. Conrad dominates the beasts with ease.
Conrad approaches the tower, enters a portal and pops out on the top of the tower. He comes face to face with Deruin, a massive dragon who dwarfs Conrad in size. Deruin taunts Conrad and reveals that he has been waiting years for the next Defender to come and face him. It is both of their destinies to be fighting as they are. Conrad and Deruin fight intensely. Conrad begins to gain momentum in the fight, and stabs Deruin in the vertebrate. Conrad clings onto the beast's back for dear life before the two fall into the clouds and we cut to black.
