A lot of fans weren't really happy with how Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot turned out. I thought it had some fun moments throughout the film, but for the most part is was kind of a mess. It's a shame because there was a lot of great comedic talent involved and I think it could've been a decent film had they come up with a better take on the story and characters.
Dan Aykroyd was a producer on the film and although he praised the film before it was released, he's now singing a different tune. While a guest on Britain’s TV show Sunday Brunch, Aykroyd laid into Feig because he didn't listen to them and he ended up costing the studio a ton of money in reshoots that could have been avoided.

Wondering where Bridesmaids 2, Spy 2, and The Heat 2 are? Paul Feig explains why they haven't happened.
Paul Feig took part in one of the Tribeca Film Festival’s Directors Series Tribeca Talks in New York earlier this week, being hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Michael Ché. While a wide variety of topics were covered from stand-up to working with women, one of the interesting things asked from the audience was when Feig might do a sequel to one of his hit comedies, whether it be Bridesmaids or The Heat or Spy. The latter two there had been talk about a sequel but he didn’t seem too optimistic that any of them might happen.

Paul Feig chats to us about his new Ghostbusters film, the internet backlash, the Sony attack, and the last two years of his life…
“I felt the pressure”, Paul Feig admitted, as we sat down to talk about his new film, Ghostbusters. Feig, a geek of some vintage (his two books are sublime, Freak & Geeks remains a superb piece of television, nearly two decades on), has over the past half decade established himself as one of Hollywood’s most successful contemporary comedy directors, off the back of Bridesmaids, The Heat and Spy.
And then he took on Ghostbusters, a project that has seen him in the crosshairs of some legitimate and some utterly vile comments.
It seems almost surreal, after the storm of the past year or two, to finally be at the point where we get to see the film itself. But here we are, and here – in full context,...

Amy Schumer successfully crossed over into the world of movies, so now it's time for her next big project. The funny gal of Inside Amy Schumer found wide success with Trainwreck, her film co-starring herself and SNL vet Bill Hader in a story about a woman who needs to get her life right. But how does one top such a raunchy, signature Schumer comedy? According to Deadline, that would be a mother-daughter-vacation-gone-wrong extravaganza. The trade reports that Schumer's next film project is taking that shape. The still-untitled film was written by Katie Dippold, who wrote Paul Feig's The Heat, The Heat 2 and all-female Ghostbusters remake. She based the project on her own relationship with her mother, and the directing job was offered to Warm Bodies' Jonathan Levine. He's apparently still weighing his options, but Schumer is on board. While he makes his decision, it's...

Buddy-cop movies tend to inspire sequels. Winning comedies tend to inspire sequels. Movies that earn north of $220 million at the global box office have a very good chance of getting a sequel. And yet, Paul Feig says that The Heat 2 likely isn.t happening, and he points to a very strange reason. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly that.s primarily focused on Ghostbusters 3 (with good reason), Paul Feig also explains how he and The Heat screenwriter Katie Dippold came to land the next chapter in the Ghostbusters franchise. He explains that right after The Heat hit, the two got together on an idea for a sequel, and Dippold actually went the distance in writing a screenplay for it. Done deal, right? Not according to Feig, who says: It.s just Sandra [Bullock].s not wanting to do it.not likely to do a sequel to anything. So that...

On Wednesday afternoon, Paul Feig tweeted that he was indeed going to direct a new Ghostbusters film, and it will, in his words, star "hilarious women." Just a few months ago the future of Ghostbusters seemed uncertain, with Ivan Reitman deciding not to direct a new movie after the death of Harold Ramis. Feig, however, has taken Ghostbusters in an entirely new direction. He's not making a follow-up to the '80s classics, but rebooting franchise with women as the titular ghost-fighting heroes. The concept fits within Feig's oeuvre. His critical and commercial successes, Bridesmaids and The Heat, were comedies led by women,...

Following the massive critical and box office successes that were Gravity and The Heat, Academy Award-winner Sandra Bullock is riding high, and surely has her pick of projects. But before she may or may not strap in for The Heat 2, Bullock is locking in for a political dramedy from David Gordon Green. Variety reports Sandra Bullock has signed on to star in Our Brand Is Crisis. Warner Bros. has greenlit the project, which boasts writer-director David Gordon Green as its helmer. But Bullock is not only starring in the political pic, she's also set to produce alongside her Gravity co-star George Clooney, and his Smokehouse Pictures partner, Grant Heslov. Currently unknown is if Clooney is eyeing a role for himself in the film. If the title Our Brand Is Crisis sounds familiar, that's because the Bullock vehicle was first a celebrated documentary. Directed by Rachel Boyton, the 2005 doc was...

And EW’s Entertainer of the Year is…Sandra Bullock!
She is the gift that keeps on giving. First the 49-year-old Oscar winner teamed up with the uproarious Melissa McCarthy in Paul Feig’s winning buddy cop comedy The Heat. Then, as Dr. Ryan Stone in Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity, Bullock gives an emotionally naked performance that will likely earn her an Oscar nomination. Bullock’s tremendous talent and range — to say nothing of the woman’s trademark grace and good humor in good times and bad — is what earned her the top spot on our annual list of the...

A former writer on the small screen for MADtv and the critically adored Parks and Recreation, Katie Dippold’s first feature The Heat hits screens this week. Directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids), and starring Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, the buddy cop movie has already proved a big hit in the U.S., grossing $160million at the box office and prompting talk of a sequel almost immediately.
We sat down with Katie to ask her about what made her want to write a female-led buddy cop comedy, her experiences working with Paul Feig on the film, and a little bit about her previous experience on the small screen with Parks and Rec.
Were you always a fan of buddy cop movies?

Sandra Bullock held hands with her son, Louis, on the way to a birthday party in La yesterday. She carried a wrapped present as she and Louis made their way into the festivities, and Louis later emerged with a balloon and party favor. Although Sandra spent Sunday celebrating one of Louis's pals, she is coming off of her own birthday celebrations since she turned 49 on Friday. Sandra was able to ring in her own special occasion with much-deserved downtime since she recently wrapped a big press tour for Summer flick The Heat, which most recently took her to Australia for a premiere earlier this month. The success of the comedy, which also stars Sandra's real-life pal Melissa McCarthy, has sparked interest in a sequel, but it appears Sandra is not yet on board for a The Heat 2. In a recent interview, Sandra shot down the sequel rumors, saying, "I...

Before "The Heat" arrived in theaters on June 28, director Paul Feig told HuffPost Entertainment that he was hoping to get "other franchises" going beyond the not-happening "Bridesmaids 2." With Sandra Bullock tossing cold water on "The Heat 2" ("I know they say never say never, but right now, I can't imagine it," Bullock told EW.com), that might leave Feig's female spy feature, "Susan Cooper," as his best option. To that end: TheWrap reports Melissa McCarthy is in early talks to star in the film, which would be her third collaboration with Feig in the last four years, following "Bridesmaids" and "The Heat."
Back in June, Feig talked about "Susan Cooper" with Coming Soon. "I'm still figuring out cast-wise who we're gonna go with," he said about who might star in the film, which has been described as a female James Bond. "I have ideas of what I want, but yeah,...

Despite doing well at the box office and fairly well with critics, it doesn’t look like Sandra Bullock wants to reprise her role in a sequel to The Heat. Though nothing has been confirmed and 20th Century Fox hasn’t as of yet, we do know that a script for The Heat 2 was penned by Katie Dippold, it just hasn’t been given the go ahead yet. At this stage though, it’s only a matter of time before they do.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Bullock revealed her thoughts about returning for a sequel, telling them the following:
“I know they say never say never, but right now, I can’t imagine it,” Bullock told EW. “I don’t want to ruin what Melissa and I had. If a miracle happens where [a script] shows up that really and truly outdid the first and provided an experience that was better than the first one,...

Hopes for a sequel to "The Heat" are nearly extinguished, according to Sandra Bullock.
The co-star of the cop comedy has said that the only thing that would get her holstered up again alongside Melissa McCarthy is a miracle. "I don't want to ruin what Melissa and I had," Bullock tells Entertainment Weekly. "If a miracle happens where [a script] shows up that really and truly outdid the first and provided an experience that was better than the first one, then I would look at it. But I'm not there."
Director Paul Feig recently revealed that "The Heat" screenwriter Katie Dippold is already working on a script for a second film. But will it be good enough to convince Bullock to sign on, despite her sequel curse?
The Oscar-winning actress has made two sequels in her career, including "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous" and "Speed 2," both box office failures. "If you...

Katie Dippold has a full treatment written for "The Heat 2," though if fans can't wait for Fox to go ahead with the project, there's always "Ride Along."
Kevin Hart and Ice Cube fill the shoes of Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, starring as an odd couple of crime fighters. Hart is a school security guard with dreams of becoming a full-fledged police officer who wants to marry the sister of Ice Cube's character. Born O'Shea Jackson, Ice Cube plays a member of the Atlanta Police Department who tells Hart's character that in order to marry his sister, he must come on a ride-along with him and prove that he is worthy to marry her.
Directed by Tim Story ("Barbershop"), "Ride Along" also stars John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, and Jay Pharoah. The movie will hit theaters in January 2014.
