Family Business indeed
AvidWatcher1018 November 2023
So often WTW has brought tears to my eyes but this is the first time it happened before the opening credits. The words of the theme song hit differently every time.. "Don't forget where you come from ", from the work it takes athletes to achieve success, the history of a town behind their team, the stories of the fans.. and this episode's focus, the families. It's tough going through what some of the guys (and owners) went through growing up, but people who grow and evolve, who accept change and love their family through difficult times.. they have one of the most important qualities found in successful people; resilience. When you have resilience with determination and intelligence you can do anything. I just love the heart of this story. Go Wrexham.

Why this is so much more than a "soccer show"
cssimdb24 February 2024
I tuned into this episode expecting to continue following Wrexham's quest for promotion - and discovered this completely different - but touching and wonderful - episode.

Perhaps it was the echoes of my own life that hit me so hard but this quite possibly was my favorite episode yet. A beautiful reflection on families of all types, intertwined with the ongoing stories of the team, the owners and the town.

Credit to the Welcome to Wrexham producers for intertwining human interest stories so seamlessly into the ongoing narrative of the team and the town. If you're only here for the football, this may not be your cup of tea, but I loved it.

Kind've a boring episode after the previous one

I know the story being told in this docu-series is much bigger than football. It's about the people, the town, the culture, etc.

However, I found this episode quite boring. It seemed oddly/poorly placed within the season. The last episode was incredibly interesting. Wrexham and Notts county going head to head battling for the chance at promotion and now with promotion in reach... let's stop all the momentum, excitement, & anticipation about soccer for a detour about family and what that means to Rob, Ryan, and Ollie Palmer.

This episode would've fit better in season 1 when the viewers were getting to know Rob and Ryan "the owners." Or, if it had been paired with an episode that was more geared toward "the people" of the town/club that landed earlier in the season. 3rd from last isn't a good place for it.

Just an awkward placement that was like a speed bump in the series. Then the next episode (14) picks up where episode 12 left off. Confusing choice.
