When someone says there's a K-drama for everyone, you better believe it, because no other country produces such a wide variety of stories. From fantasy adventures full of mystical creatures and big battles to sweet and slow-paced love stories, there's no subgenre missing.
K-drama producers must believe that anything in life can be turned into a love story, and they're not wrong. As the most bizarre show of 2024, Chicken Nugget, where the main character turns into a snack food, proved, there are no limits to the writers' imagination. Lee Sun Bin and Kang Tae Oh's new romcom is about to join the ranks.

Set to premiere in early 2025, Potato Research Institute will follow another food-obsessed character. Viewers will meet Kim Mi Kyung, a woman who lives in a rural area and loves potatoes, portrayed by Lee Sun Bin. She lives a quiet and...

The two big original releases on Netflix this month are Spaceman and 3 Body Problem. In Spaceman, Adam Sandler plays an astronaut alone and far from home who desperately wants to fix things with his wife. When he discovers an enormous alien spider in the bowels of his ship, a conversation between the two gets underway, and Sandler has a chance to make some big changes. To be clear: this is not a comedy!
Meanwhile, new sci-fi series 3 Body Problem hails from Game of Thrones co-creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Along with True Blood writer Alexander Woo, they’ve spun a tale that is set to blow your mind this March. Your mileage may vary, but it certainly looks interesting! And hey, we all love the show’s star, Benedict Wong.

In this era of bounteous streaming series, a steady stream of cinematically-released films, internet oddities and beyond, you’d be forgiven for thinking that nearly every story has, at this point, been told already. And then something comes along to remind you that there are still original ideas left in the world: like, what if there was a show in which a human woman was turned by a machine into a chicken nugget, leaving her father and an intern who has a crush on her to try and turn her back into a human? That sound you hear is Joseph Campbell’s brain exploding. This is the premise of a new Netflix series titled – you guessed it – Chicken Nugget, and it comes from South Korean writer-director Lee Byeong-heon. Check out the wild trailer here:
Well… there it is. Your standard woman-becomes-chicken-nugget show. It is – in a glorious turn of phrase...

Fortunately, for those more inclined to stay home as we wait out the final weeks of winter, there are plenty of alternative options for your entertainment fix to choose from on Netflix. In addition to its usual smattering of kids' shows, international releases, and comedy specials, the streamer will unveil intriguing new projects starring the likes of Millie Bobby Brown and Regina King, along with some endeavors that could only exist on Netflix.
Don't believe me? There's a South Korean comedy series about a woman being turned into a chicken nugget that's written and directed by Lee Byeong-heon, whose 2019 action-comedy "Extreme Job" was the highest-grossing movie in South Korea at the time of its release. Has the streamer found the next "Squid Game" already, or is this one destined to remain a roundly niche offering?...
