Love this show, and the cast
Platonic's Season 1 Episode 8, "San Diego," quickly transitions from cringe humor to uncomfortable due to the Charlie angle. The Johnny Rev storyline and the painting debacle are a concern, but Sylvia's situation is sympathetic. She should have come clean to Charlie, but her family's welcome home makes it difficult to ignore. Overall, the pivot between Platonic and Johnny Rev is not enjoyable. In "San Diego," Sylvia experiences a positive win, while in "Let the River Run," the song is used to create a comedic effect. The song is used to both garner good feelings and mock Sylvia's feelings, but it seems like a kicking tactic. Charlie's treatment of her with childlike gloves seems patronizing. The technique is used to convey a sense of disappointment and resentment. Charlie and his lawyer friends view Sylvia and Will's friendship as a legal issue, causing the search for truth to be blown out of proportion. Sylvia's best friend of the opposite sex is allowed, and Mr. Rev's inane point after assaulting Sylvia puts him as the villain. Charlie, a misogynistic character, quickly wins over Sylvia in Platonic Season 1 Episode 5, "My Wife's Boyfriend." He's drawn to her due to their shared issues with a woman having a male bestie. Charlie's lawyerly need for evidence hinders his understanding with Sylvia, who needs Will. Will stands up for Sylvia and Johnny Rev, exposing his disgusting behavior. He's done with the deal after seeing the mogul's true colors. Will initially had a reluctance towards Johnny Rev, but his intuition led him to make good choices, even when his business partners mistreat him. Reggie's willingness to continue in the Johnny Rev business is surprising, as Johnny Rev's character is ultimately a disappointment. Despite his initial aversion, Will ultimately makes wise decisions and ultimately succeeds in his endeavors. A woman can have a caring best friend during her time of need, especially if her husband is lacking in that area. Their relationship remains platonic, but Charlie's ominous greeting indicates that the story will continue with outdated conflict. The comedy can be explored further by Willvia's silly hijinks and letting loose at a later stage of their lives, without resorting to a stale plot line. Will's loyalty to his friends on television has been showcased in a new episode, focusing on the potential for two adults of different sexes to truly be friends. The episode explores the concept of platonic friendship, with the conventional layman's perspective dominating the proceedings. The future of Charlie and Sylvia's relationship and the possibility of the deal going through without Will's involvement are explored, making the wait for the show's conclusion thrilling. In Episode 8 of Platonic, Sylvia returns home from a workplace humiliation, a highly intense episode in recent television history. Simon presents her hero, his hero, to Charlie, who is shocked by her return. Sylvia pretends to go to work for three days, but instead, she visits Will at his bar to wait out the time. Charlie accepts her resignation, but is disbelieved by the bizarre reasons behind her firing. He also professes the logic of "both sides," which annoys Sylvia. The next day, Katie reveals she is going to San Diego with Andy to meet Johnny Rev, continuing discussions to license their beer for his QSR chain. Sylvia convinces Will to join her, despite his previous decision to skip it.
