The dysfunctional Beck family return to our screens and Ruzek, under cover again, has a sliding doors moment, doing a lot of activity with Richard's grandson that he has been doing with Makayla. A well-executed montage.

A tense episode - they usually are when one of the squad is undercover and this is particularly high-stakes.

A hate crime gives the Intelligence unit an 'in' with one of the Beck family's foot soldiers, which Ruzek thinks he can use to figure out what the master plan is.

Things don't exactly transpire the way the squad wants them to, but at the end of the episode Ruzek gets a promotion in the Beck family hierarchy and gets his first idea of what is planned for "three weeks'" time - a mass casualty event of some sort, it seems. (Based on events, I'm tipping it's attacks targeted at immigrants).

Four episodes left in the season. They're shaping up to be excellent.

Tense

These Beck episodes are getting real tense. It was a close call with Ruzek at the cafe/restaurant. His cover could have been blown or worse yet Sam could have seen his daughter.

My only gripe is that by Ruzek telling Dale he is a cop how does Ruzek know that Dale wouldn't call Richard? It doesn't look like the cop at his hospital door was paying much attention to Dale. These cops take a lot of risks.

I read another review saying Sam may not be a victim of Richard as she acts but I am not sure about that yet. Nothing would surprise me though. Growing up with a father like that must have some kind of negative effect on a person.

I do want this case to come to a conclusion though. The tension is stressing me out!!!!

great episode

A lot ruzek and not a lot of whiny burgees make an episode excellent..

it is kinda weird tho ruzek doing the babysitting with the daughter... like he doesnt trust the guy but makes him be with his daughter and grandson? Ok

finally ruzek made a play and now he is in...

well even with the daughter crying i still think she is lying and she is as a sociopath and he is.. she is just manipulating ruzek..

and the play they are talking about.. we are all guessing it is bombs.. but come on now.. dude doesnt have the reach to get any patogens or nuclear things so come on.. what is the idea? Like making some amateur ieds and bomb the immigrants joints all over chicago?
