  • Oliver shoots someone with an arrow during the intro. A woman in a red dress gets hit by a car. Afterward, there are some scratches and blood on her face. Oliver shoots an explosive arrow at a car, which blows up. There's a man in front of it shooting an uzi at him, and he gets pushed away by the blast. Oliver shoots a man in the hand to make him drop a gun. It causes a wound, and there is some visible blood. A man hits Oliver over the head with a metal pole. Diggle fights hand-to-hand with a couple of men. Oliver stabs himself with one of his arrows, a syringe-tipped one which contains a solution of the medicinal herb from the island. Oliver shoots a man in the chest with an arrow. The man then falls backward. The arrow is visible protruding from his chest.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The episode centers around a fictional drug known as "vertigo." The drug is a purple and green capsule. A woman at the beginning of the episode is hit by a car while feeling its effects. In one scene, a dealer sells large amounts of it to a group of homeless guys. One of them later is seen taking the drugs and threatening people in an aquarium with a gun. Some of the scene is shown through the man's perspective, with a hazy effect on the corners of the image indicative of his altered state of mind. Two men pour a large amount of liquid vertigo down Oliver's throat. Part of the next few moments are shown through Oliver's eyes, with an effect similar to the one used to show the perspective of the homeless drug addict in the aquarium. At several points in the episode, The Count is shown experiencing a form of psychosis attributed to his overdose on a purer form of the drug. At one point in the episode, some of the characters look at the inventory of the night club (the alcohol). Several bottles and brand logos are shown. There is also alcohol at the bar of the night club, which is shown several times during the episode. No one drinks alcohol during the episode, however. At the end of the episode, Laurel and her father mention scotch.
