Exclusive: Tara Long, who was President of Global Unscripted Television at eOne, has finalized a deal with John Morayniss’ Blink49 Studios.
Deadline revealed that Long was leaving after the Lionsgate merger went through and was set to strike a deal with the Fifth Season-backed company. Instead of setting up her own shop with the company, she is instead becoming President of Global Unscripted Television.
Joining her is former Bounce TV exec Ri-Karlo Handy, who will become SVP, Unscripted.
Based in LA and reporting to CEO Morayniss, whom she worked with for over ten years when he was at eOne, Long will oversee its U.S. unscripted television slate and will assume responsibility for managing the global unscripted division including the ongoing Canadian operations.

As the Harlem Globetrotters nears its centennial anniversary, the trick-shot exhibition team is revving up for all-new bilingual TV programming.
In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Telemundo is set to premiere the all-new series “Harlem Globetrotters: Ganando Con La Comunidad,” a sister program to the Emmy-nominated NBC series “Harlem Globetrotters: Play It Forward” now in its sophomore season. Hosted by comedian and actor Craig Robinson of “The Office” fame, the 30-minute series will run weekly as part of NBC’s “The More You Know” and Telemundo’s “Mi Telemundo” slots.
“There are few sports-and-entertainment brands more iconic than the Harlem Globetrotters. We look forward to expanding the franchise to Telemundo this season, providing an even more diverse audience the opportunity to experience this inspiring show,” said Bryan Curb, executive VP at Hearst Media Production Group, which produces both Globetrotter programs.

Exclusive: Longtime Nickelodeon exec Bronwen O’Keefe has joined the Harlem Globetrotters in the newly created position of Global Head of Content, Harlem Globetrotters and Herschend Entertainment Studios.
O’Keefe joined the organization as a consultant in spring 2022 and will now serve as part of the organization’s executive team. She will report to company president Keith Dawkins.
O’Keefe will lead the overall content strategy for the exhibition basketball team and the work emanating out of Herschend Entertainment Studios. This will include creative oversight of the Harlem Globetrotters global tour, content for the Globetrotters brand, which includes continuing to oversee the Emmy-nominated NBC 30-minute weekly series Harlem Globetrotters: Play it Forward, and the creation of a new development slate including documentaries, animated series and specials, branded digital entertainment, and scripted and unscripted formats.

Red Nose Day and the world famous Harlem Globetrotters, both globally recognized for embracing the power of fun and entertainment, are coming together to raise money, change lives and build healthy futures for all children.
Red Nose Day, Comic Relief US’ annual fundraising campaign that harnesses the power of entertainment to drive social change, is taking center court at 25 upcoming Harlem Globetrotter games across 24 cities from April 13-27.
At every game, five lucky audience members will be randomly selected to participate in a basketball skills showcase. They will be tasked with three different shots: a lay-up, a free throw and a three-point shot.
