Great show but........

I really enjoy this show. I agree with another reviewer who pointed out that some plot lines were left unresolved. Hopefully this season will close the loop on those................the sheriff's cowardice and most likely, corruption for one.

The Deputy McLanahan character is waaaaaayyyy overacted. Not sure if it's the writing, acting or directing but the worn out hick arrogant cop trope has been done to death.

A real leader (the sheriff) would recognize this and not keep him so involved in high profile cases. I said real leader, obviously not a leader created by a TV writer.

I cringe every time I see him in a scene. In this episode there is even an homage to South Park...."He didn't respect my authority !" Good God !

Hire some writers!

I've watched a ton of shows with incompetent law enforcement, but seriously these guys are utterly ridiculous. The Sheriff is a lazy incompetent good ole boy who is an insult to good ole boys. The idiot deputy McClanahan is cartoonish. I love Michael Dorman and can only assume that he is just following the script that was written for him. He does stupid stuff! Sheriff's and Game Wardens have procedures everywhere except on this show. And for God's sake give Joe and his family some reliable friends and back up. Watching this episode "The Question Why" just makes me cringe. The books are great, I can only assume that C. J. box is embarrassed by this farsical tv production.

Disappointing

First season started out great. There were some plot flaws and some mediocre acting, but overall worth watching.

The end of the first season took a nosedive.

Way too many plots left open. No closure or even mention of some of the characters of events.

Some of the scene DRAGGED on way to long. Felt like they were just trying to stretch out the episode.

Season 2 - Started out very weak.

Lots of scenes like it was a musical.

Scenarios and plot are Ridiculous.

I bet real game wardens can't even watch this show.

Joe Pickett's character is SO pathetic! Spent most of the episode yelling at the TV.

Can't watch anymore.
