Looking for the manuscript
Tweekums6 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This episode follows on from the previous one as Wilson, Becky and Ian help escape with Grant and Alice after the murder of Alice's mother. Alice is understandably very distressed and Wilson thinks they should just leave her somewhere safe; the others disagree, claiming there is nowhere safe. They eventually find somewhere to hide out. Here we learn that Grant has kept some pages of the manuscript but Jessica has told him to keep them hidden from everybody else; he has also copied several other pages; they don't identify the mysterious 'Mr Rabbit' but they do hold clues to what The Network might be doing. Elsewhere Dugdale has the sample he acquired on Fetlar analysed and discovers that there was no sign of Russian Flu; the man had been poisoned.

This episode was less violent then previous instalments, excluding a shooting that also featured at the end of the previous episode; that didn't mean there wasn't a feeling that violence could happen at times; and sometimes that can be just as disturbing. I'm pleased that the writers are gradually answering some of the questions that have been raised while still keeping the central mystery going. The most interesting revelation concerned Arby who learnt about himself in the manuscript then confronts Letts and learns more; this was a fine scene where Neil Maskell and Stephen Rea do fine jobs. With only two episodes to go I'm confident that it will manage to end well.. for the viewer if not for all the characters.
