Though he’s never been a superstar, after four decades of making music there is no question that Nick Cave is a legend. Singer, songwriter and occasional composer, Cave has been playing in bands since he was in his teens, from his post-punk group The Birthday Party, to his back-to-basics side project Grinderman, to his solo work and his band, The Bad Seeds, for over 30 years. Though his music has only ever crossed over into the mainstream a few times (notably the soundtrack staple “Red Right Hand” and Kylie Minogue duet “Where The Wild Roses Grow”), he has nevertheless amassed an army of dedicated fans all over the world. The new documentary “20,000 Days On Earth” is neither the career retrospective nor concert film you might expect, but rather a snapshot of the musician, now 57, still trying to connect with his muse. Far from your ordinary music doc, the film is...

One of the most unlikely collaborations in pop history came in 1995, when Kylie Minogue appeared on Nick Cave's Murder Ballad 'Where The Wild Roses Grow'.
The pair remained friends and have reunited, Minogue appearing in Cave's upcoming film 20,000 Days on Earth.
"Kylie, we just on the off chance, we got her to sing this song. It became this kind of minor hit in its day," Cave said.
"She came in this beam of light into our lives for a short time.
"It was a beautiful thing to be sitting with her in this way driving around in this car. it was great."
Other guests in Cave's car during the movie include Ray Winstone and former Bad Seed Blixa Bargeld.
A special screening of 20,000 Days on Earth takes place on Wednesday (September 17) at The Barbican.
It will be beamed into 150 cinemas across the UK followed by a unique...

"I wake, I write, I eat, I write, I watch TV..." so says rock icon Nick Cave in his opening narration voiceover. And in doing so lays out the template of this exceptional documentary. Of course, if you know the artist Cave, you will know that his life isn't quite that simple. And while the film plays like a day in the life of Nick, from the opening scene of him waking up in bed next to his wife Susie to final crescendo of an evening performance of an absolutely riveting live version of "Higgs Boson Blues" from his last album, it is everything in between that really explores and exposes the artist as a work in progress.
Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard started out filming what was supposed to be an Epk for Nick's latest album Push The Sky Away but ended up with this truly revelatory film.
