If you’re a bit Ocd about how movies should be categorized, you might want to stay away from the Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is happy to play fast and loose with defining what genre a film belongs in (see “The Martian” winning for Best Comedy), still it’s not a surprise that heads were turned when “Get Out” was accepted in Comedy category.
Jordan Peele‘s horror hit is an awards season contender, and Universal‘s decision to submit the picture as a comedy instead of drama for the Golden Globes, was likely done to give it a better shot at earning some hardware (the drama category is very crowded and competitive).

Chelsea Clinton, Josh Groban, George Takei and more big names are voicing their outrage over the recent New Yorker report that President Trump once joked that Vice President Mike Pence “wants to hang” all gay people.
The New Yorker story published Monday cited two anonymous sources who recalled Trump “needling Pence about his views on abortion and homosexuality.”
According to the sources, when the subject of gay rights came up during a meeting with an unnamed legal scholar, the president allegedly motioned toward Pence and joked, “Don’t ask that guy — he wants to hang them all!”

Exclusive: Aaron Carter Says He and Brother Nick Might Never Reconcile: 'There's Too Much Animosity'
Following Aaron Carter's arrested in Habersham County, Georgia, on Saturday night, the long-standing rift between him and his older brother, Nick Carter, was ripped open even wider.
The 29-year-old singer sat down with Et's Jennifer Peros on Tuesday, opening up about his high-profile arrest and strained relationship with his brother, which he said is basically non-existent now.
"Nick made no efforts to call me, and he knows how to reach me," Aaron shared.
Hours after the arrest, Nick took to Twitter to offer support for his younger brother. The gesture was unappreciated by Aaron, who shared a statement through his rep after being released on bail, saying, "If my own blood (Nick) truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum?"

Chicago – The dry, hangdog demeanor of comedian Demetri Martin is familiar to fans who have watched his Comedy Central show, “Important Things,” experienced his notable stand up routines and read his best-selling books. It seemed a natural to leap into film, so Martin has written, directed and portrays the title character in the new release, “Dean.”
Dean (Demetri Martin) is in a life funk, due to the death of his mother the year before, and the break-up of his engagement shortly thereafter. He plunges into his work as a cartoonist and illustrator, but he can’t shake the recent losses. His father Robert (Kevin Kline) is trying to reach out, but can’t seem to get through to him, until he tells Dean that he is selling the family home. This puts the title character into a tailspin, and even an escape to Los Angeles – and meeting a free spirit...

Scanning one of David Cronenberg’s most popular, most flawed films.
Memory is a funny thing. Not funny, “haha,” so much, but funny in that hilariously terrifying way that makes you realize your own brain is out to destroy you. The fitting inspiration for this epiphany of corporeal opposition was a recent revisit of David Cronenberg’s Scanners.
You know Scanners. You may not have seen the movie, but at the very least you know it as a meme. If you’ve ever been scrolling through social media on that day when your geeky cousin (the one you forgot to wish a happy birthday because you could not spare the finger energy) has had just about enough, you’ve probably seen a colorful gif (that’s “G-if,” not “J-if” you heathens) of a man’s head exploding in gory detail.
Despite occurring a mere fifteen minutes into the film, that head explosion scene is certainly Scanners’ centerpiece...

Dominican Newspaper Apologizes After Identifying Photo of Alec Baldwin In Costume as President Trump
Alec Baldwin‘s President Donald Trump impersonation has reached new heights.
A Dominican Republic newspaper has apologized after misidentifying the actor – who has portrayed the president on Saturday Night Live since fall of last year – as Trump in a recent edition.
El Nacional noted their mistake over the weekend, issuing an apology online on Saturday and in print on Sunday. “The situation went unnoticed by those who revised page 19,” the statement said.
The original article showed a photo of Baldwin next to an image of Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel. Underneath Baldwin’s photo, the caption read, “Donald Trump,...

You may love President Trump or you may despise him, but either way I think both sides of the isle would agree that both his image and his voice have some comedic value. Entertainers have picked up on this including one late night TV host, Jimmy Kimmel. Trump was interviewed by ABC's David Muir and Kimmel was able to mesh the audio with that of one megalomaniac Lex Luthor when Superman confronts Luthor in the Oval Office in the Justice League cartoon episode "A Better World". (side note - they should have used BvS: Public Enemies)
The audio lines up perfectly, and it is pretty funny, check it out!
Kimmel calls these clips Kimmel Kartoons and while I do not watch late night shows, I hear he is the best at what he does. The clip was stopped fairly short, and if anyone has seen this episode they know what happens next.

At some point Channing Tatum went from man-candy (what? It's been said) to movie star. His star rose when Step Up stole the hearts of romantic comedy lovers that had waited too long for a new dance film. Seemed like Save The Last Dance had been decades before, despite the fact it actually released only five years prior. But, let's take a look back at Channing's filmography and see exactly where Tatum became something more.

“The Last Tycoon”
In the year 2016, it’s no secret that as glamorous as old Hollywood seemed on the surface, the truth was far less wholesome. With that in mind, “The Last Tycoon,” written and directed by Billy Ray (the under-appreciated talent behind such films as “Shattered Glass,” adapting a famously unfinished roman a clef by F. Scott Fitzgerald) might seem a bit rote, but it’s got an awful lot going for it.
Matt Bomer stars as Monroe Stahr, the idealistic production head of a motion picture studio who’s at odds with studio boss Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer) while trying to get his dream picture made in the political and social climate of the 1930s. (Why yes, the subject of what’s happening in Germany does come up.) Monroe, we learn right away, is mourning the loss of his movie star wife even as he bounds around the studio,...

There are a ton of cosplayers out there with fantastic looking costumes, but this Injustice: Gods Among Us Harley cosplay by Anissa Cosplay is absolutely spectacular! It’s easily one of the better Harley Quinn cosplays that I’ve seen. The photos you see here were taken by Anna Henatsch.

“Inside every disaster is a hit film,” claims producer Peter Guber, “and inside every hit film are the seeds of a disaster. It depends how they’re cultivated whether you get Howard The Duck or Who Framed Roger Rabbit.”
Guber knows all about producing hits and disasters – in a career spanning 5 decades, he helped produce Rain Man, Gorillas In The Mist and Tim Burton’s Batman, but he was also involved with Who’s That Girl, Tango & Cash and The Bonfire Of The Vanities (he drew the line at Batman Forever, though).
His career could, of course, have been much worse. It might’ve included Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, Ishtar or Showgirls, the kind of flops that helped derail the careers of those that made them.

During the opening promo on Raw this week, Kevin Owens was in the ring with Seth Rollins and Cesaro. Randy Orton walked out and threw in a line about Kevin Owens when he wondered if he had gained any weight. Apparently that was a line scripted by WWE officials who are against Owens because they think he looks fat, according to Wrestling Observer Radio.
Orton’s short line was: “Kevin, have you put on weight lately?” Then he made a motion suggesting a big belly. Owens replied with a “no” as Orton moved on.
Owens ended up competing in a triple threat match against Orton and Cesaro, which Orton won when he hit a Rko on Cesaro and pinned him. It was a great match that proved once again that Owens is one of the best in-ring performers in WWE.
