Great acting and writing

I loved the plot and the acting. Danny Pudi (Abed) and Donald Glover (Troy) were amazing, also Jim Rash was great.

One of the better S4 Episodes
arnozela17 October 2021
This and Heroic Origins are my favorite S4 Episodes. I like the way it shows Troy and Brittas relationship, once again using Abed to represent the boundaries he puts on them, but this time also the boundaries they put on their relationship. The B plot wasn't as good as the main plot, but Jim Rash carried it. The jokes still fall a bit flat sometimes and the characters still feel out of place, but that's more of a S4 issue in general.

funny but no sense
Daevyy8 April 2023
This episode was one of the funniest for me, i laught in the entire episode, but i dont like the plot, simply beacause is simply doesnt make any sense this plot, and i hate it. I dont know how to write a review or critic, so i just write, just write what is going on i my mind. I am really not enjoying this season, some episodes remember the first season who in some ways i dont like, but community it wasnt perfect all the time, and always get one smile in my face, and that's what a i love about that show, many scripts doens't make any sense, like this one, but i always will laugh of this situations.

Freaky Troy-Abed-Jeff Day

I don't generally watch something more than once. Not movies, and especially not a series episode. But this, this was freaky-deaky. Immediate re-watch...

Superb

Warning: Spoilers
This wasn't just a superb episode of the unfairly maligned season 4, it was a superb episode of the whole series.

The Freaky Friday reference was more than a gimmick or homage. It led to a multi-layered episode that drew on the emotional reserves in the Community community.

Donald Glover deserved an Emmy for capturing the mannerisms of Abed. I wish I could say the same for Danny Pudi because he fell short of capturing the mannerisms of Troy. Not sure why.

I know some in the Community community revile season 4 because it's Harmon-less, claiming season 4 tried to "reverse engineer" the Harmonesque touch. But really season 4 stands out and in some ways is better than some of the earlier episodes in season 1.

The inclusion of a vertical hug was stupendous. 10/10

Warning: Spoilers
Bravo, Bravo. As a film buff, I'd like to explain out one of the closing scenes of the episode. Britta placed a classic vertical hug upon Troy's shoulder - physically lowering his stance. This symbolized Britta's lowering of Troy's status; from a lover to friend. Subtle, and spectacular. Again, Bravo.

A Complete Waste Of Time

This episode and most of season four was mind-numbingly bad. Other reviewers blame the fact that Dan Harmon was fired after season three, but Community was not all that wonderful from the beginning of the show. It is time to quit and move on to something better.

A oasis in a stale season of trying to utilize gimmicks.
initselffor1 January 2016
In the season three DVD-commentaries the cast mentioned Jim Rash his Oscar somewhat cynical in the spirit of promoting the show but in this episode he shows his chops and succeeds effortlessly in creating the series's best-episode-ever and without Dan Harmon. This lack of Harmon, I should mention, is noteworthy not because this truly regards the best-episode-ever but because Jim Rash himself acts like a mean lean deaning machine, grabs his lightsaber, slices open the dead tauntaun and survives the night at Hoth. This show of force is bad-ass and the whole cast is clearly on board which is masterfully emphasized by the directing of miss McCarty.

definitely a buy
