Time after time?
miles-3310814 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
One morning, a man is found stabbed with a pitchfork in the stable of Toronto's Imperial Hotel. It turns out that he was Tobias Pincher, a man with money troubles, who had a reputation for cheating at dice.

With Murdoch on the scene, Pincher's fiancée, Felicity Dawes, admits to knowing about the murder, but says several other things that suggest her witness may be unreliable, before the interview is cut short by her carer, Melanie Shropshire. With her mental state an issue, Murdoch enlists the help of Dr Ogden, who hears Felicity confessing to the murder, though Dr Ogden is sure that her connection with reality is suspect.

Murdoch discovers that Pincher had come to blows with a foreign hotel guest, Carl Rodriguez, for whom things look grim when Murdoch matches shoe prints he found in the stable to him, but he adamantly denies killing Pincher. However, when he discovers that Felicity has confessed to the murder, Rodriguez also confesses.

Matters take an unexpected turn when a portrait of a local artist who died decades earlier turns up bearing a striking resemblance to Rodriguez. The surprises continue when Constable Crabtree discovers a newspaper report of a murder in a stable with a pitchfork, accompanied by a sketch of the perpetrator, who looks just like Felicity.

Is history repeating itself? Despite His experience last New Year's Eve, is time travel possible after all? And with more than one confession, how will Murdoch find the real killer?

This is an inventive storyline, intertwined with some twists and turns in the ongoing relationship between Dr Ogden and Detective Murdoch. A fine episode.

Julia..... Again
tert728 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Back in 1900 what man would deal with a b*$&@ like Julia? It's always her way or the highway. Doesn't seem to care one iota about Murdoch or his feelings, and completely dismisses his faith all the time. She lives in her own little world and acts like murdoch should do whatever she says. And now she blames murdoch for her marrying Darcy..... What??????? Why did SHE marry him if she didn't want to? SHE left murdoch and lived somewhere else. And this show keeps shoe horning in Julia in these episodes..... Also doctor/patient confidentiality didn't even become a thing till the 30s. So Julia was at the time bound by law to tell the police what the lady said. She really ruins the show whenever she's in the scene.

Another terrible episode that insult's your intelligence
interestingstuff14 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is the fourth terrible episode in a row in the sixth season. In fact, I'd recommend you to do yourself a favor and skip the entire sixth season. The entire season feels more like a cheaply made, badly produced high school drama than a professional TV show.

This episode is nothing but waste of time. Basically they use the same formula they've used 100+ times before. The entire episode they go between 2 possible suspects, Suspect A and Suspect B, going back and forth, just to introduce a completely random nonrelated character C in the last 30 seconds and pin the murder on this character on literally ZERO evidence just for the sake of shoving a forced plot twist down people's throats.

The writers of this show are in love with plot twists and they think that forcing stupid nonsense plot twists makes a great TV but it doesn't mean 99% of those plot twists are moronic, nonsense and doesn't fit in the story like in this episode, not to mention almost every episode in this show.
