Well rounded drama

Overall a well made production with strong performances from both Michael Antonio Keane & Amreeta Leddy, however, could have benefited with a longer script and more dialogue in the finale when dealing with the resolution to the argument between "Erin" and "Tony" but credit must be given for the gripping lines given. Excellent cinematography along the Dublin coastline and city center. Keane's progress as a filmmaker is highly noted from his first film to now his 10th, it is visibly his best piece to date and show his unique re-occurring element always seen throughout his work. Irish cinema is in very safe hands.

Bravo, tears to my eyes.

Watched on Popflick, to say this short movie was emotional is an understatement, I shed a few tears towards the finale when they both held eye contact and without saying anything, both knowing that they loved each other. I highly admire the direction the film takes after the party, a real surprise to see Tony leave his friends, I think director should have filmed more scenes between Tony and Erin's sister in the hospital since in my opinion, she carried one of the strongest screen presence in Like A Bolt From The Blue. Camera work just wow, so nice and makes the whole movie cinematic, complimenting the plot. Awards really well deserved for Michael, LOVE HIS WORK, a beautiful storyteller!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Heard about this through Fresh Film Festival. Missed it at the fest but eventually caught it on YouTube... yawn! Some of the cinematography is nice. It would want to be, considering there were about 9 of them credited. The performances are usual student film performances, ranging from okay to flat out bad. The main guy was rather wooden, offering some unintentionally funny moments with his performance. The plot was there but it didn't really move, rather it ummed and erred from one scene to the next. Certain things were confusing and poorly set up. When the lady fell down in the "hospital" I was baffled as to what was happening and why. The directing was mysterious. The film drags to a conclusion where the main character poses like Zoolander on the beach for a while then decides he is ready to be a father, but in its runtime, the film gave me no reason to care about him or his decision. By no means is it offensively bad, but it's like if a robot person tried to make a human drama. Plenty of room to improve. Here's to fresh 2024.
