idealistic as a Hallmark card, almost

I get the general vibe that the show is written by very idealistic people, everything tends to veer in a schmaltzy direction. Stuff work out too easily, people connect way too easily, they see eye to eye on major personal issues just like that, and all in the milieu of a massage parlor. Of course, TV isn't real life, OF COURSE NOT, but I have been watching SECRET DIARY OF A CALL GIRL, and although a massage parlor and full-blown prostitution is not the same thing, what Riley is doing here already crosses the line, and certain realities are bound to pop up, and this show very unrealistically presents a very upbeat vision when it comes to showing the types of male customers. Anyway, I am not going to complain about that too much, I'm just saying...

Riley's little daughter is just too cute. She has the funniest little face with the most earnest emotions. Quite a find by the casting department. I also like Colin Eggleston, he used to be on the revamped MELROSE PLACE. I maintain that Loretta Divine plays the part in such a way that just about anybody else could have walked in from the street and replaced her. Cybill Shepherd might be held in high regard, but the performance is quite basic, connect-the-dots of the script and that's it. Jennifer Love Hewitt is a worthy star, and came the ending of this episode, I couldn't help recalling her tearful moments in utterly always tearful old PARTY OF FIVE. Not easy!

Despite the massage parlor theme, despite Jennifer being in lingerie in every episode (so far), there is very little for guys here. It is obviously aimed at female viewers, for nice girls who secretly wanna be naughty, who'd want to walk on the wild side, but only in their dreams... So just in case you are a guy and you haven't read the previous episode's review by myself, I'll repeat that you should rather catch HEARTBREAKERS as your Jennifer Love fix. Much more worthwhile. Take my advice now, you'll thank me later!
