Believe...
jbrowning-w31 May 2023
What Ted Lasso does well is it focuses on subverting expectations and gives you a moment of calm amongst the chaos of everyday life. This episode does that just as well as always. Ted Lasso is insistent on teaching us lessons, sometimes it does this more subtly than others, and the best lessons it teaches us are the ones about ourselves.

We learn about accepting loss and accepting our own imperfections through this show. We learn that someone who seems like the happiest man on earth is just as sad as so many of us. We learn that people can change for better and worse and that the way we change is by growing parts of our character that have always been there. This final episode of Ted Lasso makes sure to remind us of all of this before it says goodbye.

I do believe there are more stories to be told, but if the creators decide that this is not a show they want to return to, if they decide that this is already an amazing end and don't want to mess with perfection, then I can live with that. This is a rare finale that doesn't feel like a climax, and it definitely does not feel like a let down. It is simply a stepping off point.

You can tell the showrunners looked at this episode and asked themselves what the point was. They asked themselves why they made the show in the first place. It was meant to be a light in the darkness and a show that focuses on the beauty of us. This finale keeps this in mind and reminds us on several to 'believe'.

There are some beautiful symmetries between the start and end here. Character's remind us of who they were and who they are now. Honestly, I watch a lot of shows but I have never felt for characters the way I feel for these ones. When they say thank you and goodbye it carries so much weight. That can hopefully show other creators that the power is in subtext and not exposition. All the emotion is felt through actions, not words. No one says I'll miss you because you made me a better person. Instead, we are given a reminder of what these characters have been through and then we add the emotional weight ourselves. Truly powerful storytelling.

It also would not be so well delivered if the actors did not perform so well. Every leading actor has at least one moment to shine here. They all know their characters so well that they make the impossibly difficult task of rounding off their arcs seem effortless. The only disappointment here is the conclusion to the biggest love triangle of the show, but that only matters to those who saw it as a big part of the show to begin with. If I'm being honest, I was much happier with the work put into Roy and Jamie's friendship this season than anything to do with them and Keeley.

To put it bluntly, I'm upset and happy all at once. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Ted Lasso, yet I found myself putting it on straight away as I woke up this morning. I know some would say there are low points to the show, but I can honestly say I have enjoyed every episode. This finale is one of the many high points though. Well done to everyone involved.

Now, I'm going to start watching Ted Lasso from season 1 episode 1 again so that I can pretend it isn't over.

The tag line for Ted Lasso is 'BELIEVE'. If you've watched the show, you'll know why.

You will be missed
askeland893 June 2023
If you were to tell me that a 5 minute long YouTube video starring Jason Sudeikis playing a clueless football manager would somehow make it into one of the best TV shows in modern history and win countless Emmy awards I would laugh at you.. Here we are 3 years later and I'm not laughing, in fact I'm sad to see it end. I came for the football part but I stayed for the characters and their stories, these characters are now a part of me and they will be until I die. Even though the ending was very decent, I would love for them to make more seasons.. I feel like it has much more to offer!

Thank you to everyone involved in this beautiful show. You will be rememered fondly <3.

Be Curious, Not Judgmental

My all time favorite Ted Lasso scene is the dart match between Ted and Rupert. It encapsulates everything magical about this show and is an incredible setup to Season One's last episode. Unfortunately, the magic of Season One gave way to a less than magical Season Two. And the start of Season Three, while promising, left me somewhat underwhelmed. But after a few episodes of Season Three, the Lasso Way started kicking in and the magic returned. By Episode 9 I was hooked again and savoring every episode. But words can't describe the brilliance of So Long, Farewell. Another reviewer said they 'stuck the landing', which is correct, but doesn't do it justice. It was an incredible experience that I didn't want to end. So thank you Ted Lasso for bringing it home. And please leave things as they are...no spin-offs, no crazy schemes...let us savor and remember this brilliant series for what it is.

A Great diamond dogs send off
mpboylanjr-5403831 May 2023
Well this looks like it for Ted Lasso and it's incredible run, though short it was a beautiful show . It was very positive, and unlike most shows on these days. It was about love and friendship, and heartache and life. The characters were wonderful. Dare I say any one character you truly hated to see in a scene. The episode was a nice send off to Ted with Richmond almost going out on top, but really nobody losses here. I'm really going to miss Ted Lasso, and the wonderful cast and way the show made me and I'm sure millions of people feel. Maybe somewhere there is a spin-off I'm sure or Ted Lasso comes back after a hiatus. Let's hope so because there weren't many like it. The show took the world by storm for its positive messages and very funny humor. We truly got it all with Ted Lasso. Diamond Dogs... Out !!!

The ending we deserved
xjmgdrn31 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There is very little I could think of that would improve this finale, maybe Nate coming up with the play to finish off West Ham but other than that we got the emotional ending I (I think we) all wanted.

Every character had a satisfying end to their arc and I'm glad that it wasn't all romantic stories for everyone. A lot of daddy issues. Nate and his dad, Jamie and his dad and of course Henry and his dad.

I would have preferred if we never found out who won the premier league as of course it's not about the wins and losses with ted lasso.

Don't be sad it's over, be happy that it happened xx.

Be a Goldfish
harsh-2477231 May 2023
A show that makes you laugh, makes you cry and care about every single character! A lot of people think that this is a show about football but it's not. It's about a football club and the amazing people that are part of it. This season we focused a lot more on the personal lives of the players, owners and everyone else involved. I admit that there were a few dull moments but it made me feel part of this wonderful Richmond family. I was rooting for characters to do well, to find love, to get closure and just to be happy!

There are a lot of shows that have messed up their ending. However, in my opinion, this finale was perfect! It was funny, emotional and had a pretty good end to this amazing journey. I was smiling throughout the episode and crying towards the end. That's all I can say without spoiling it.

I hope there is a spinoff because this show was special and will forever be one of my favourite shows of all time.

So long, Farewell AFC Richmond.

It's not about Ted, it's about the Team
secret_arash2 June 2023
I have the utmost respect for any show, no matter how good or bad, that can provide proper closure for its characters. That's all that defines a perfect ending. I am definitely gonna miss this brilliant show especially after this fantastic ending. I really loved how everyone got what they deserved and not in a cheesy and cliche way.

The good thing about this episode was that the match itself took almost half of the Runtime and that made the tension and suspense much higher.

I thank any and all who were a responsible for the creation of such great show and would really love it if in the near future side shows were born from it.

Ignore the haters, this is perfection
ihaverly31 May 2023
Ted Lasso series 3 has had it's critics often choosing to pick on ridiculous things like the length of the episodes, the excessive focus on characters / relationships & the lack of football.

But what Ted Lasso has always done is not entirely surcome to hollywood stereotypes of predictable storylines & this last episode is the same.

Wrapping up Ted Lasso the writers manage to deliver an emotional episode without all the obvious cliched stories but enough that everyone gets some sort of happy ending.

Personally I loved it & as far as I'm concerned it's as close to perfection as a comedy/drama gets.

I want to be a goldfish

I wish I had the memory of a gold fish and could start over. This final episode belongs among the list of perfect things. All my wishes and hopes, things I couldn't even dare to dream of happened. All because Ted Lasso taught me to believe.

Thank you to the entire team behind this masterpiece. Writers take note. This is how you successfully end a groundbreaking, heartwarming show about the ups and downs of an American coach in a foreign country coaching a sport he doesn't even comprehend. It's that easy.

No, but seriously. Wicked. Or as some would say, kinky boots.

I'll miss my weekly biscuits with the boss.

Stans want blood, most fans couldn't be more happy
CentreDad31 May 2023
Ted Lasso, a show about personal growth amidst trauma, prioritized character development over romantic relationships. As the series progressed, it had moments that felt like a fairy tale, showcasing endless optimism even during its darkest moments. The show stood out with its mix of fun, crazy antics, and profound monologues on the human condition, making it a unique and unexpected sports-themed dream.

In the finale, Ted made a firm decision that nothing could change. While fans may have desired resolution in romantic relationships for closure, the showrunners primarily focused on the characters' personal journeys, their professional success, and most importantly, their significant personal growth.

The montage in the finale showcased the characters' expected or understandable conclusions in their endeavors. Undoubtedly, there will be complaints, but it's important to note that many people may not have fully understood the show's underlying message.

While a spin-off is a possibility, it's doubtful that we'll see Ted Lasso return in a meaningful way.

Love it or hate it, the show brought a supply of joy at the exact right time, and I personally can't thank those involved enough for their effort.

Brilliant.

Brilliant episode of a brilliant show.

We don't yet know if this was merely a season finale or an actual series finale, but either way, i absolutely love the show, and loved this episode in particular.

Curious to know what comes next, if anything, but despite being happy with this conclusion, i'm left wanting more, much more, from these characters.

I was curious when they first announced the show, as a 'fleshed-out' show based on the "Ted Lasso" character used by NBC to advertise the Premier League (if i recall correctly), and they even used many of the same jokes used on that skit early on, but it evolved into something very, very special, that i am very happy to have experienced.

Thank you to everyone involved in the show, it's been amazing, and i hope there's more in the future since some storylines could use some expanding.

So invested
keith-weihs7531 May 2023
Ted gave me hope that life is not perfect. Even though it never is it does change and so does love. The character that he is and never lets life brings him down is inspirational. Although in life when someone gives up on a person who is a bright shining star in life and they have a second chance in love that should be celebrated. Even if it's as simple as a tv show. I've been invested in this show. Maybe, perhaps too much in the time it's been on. Life never has a happy ending but I thought it would in this show. The characters I will always love and remember. The empathy of Ted's character I will always take with me and has changed my heart. Just wish the way it ended would be more real. I literally yelled at the TV God dammit tell each other you love one another! That's all of my two cents.

Sad but not in a good way
lukerox4 June 2023
From a show that had almost perfect timing throughout, this was unbelievably rushed. Sad to see Ted Lasso's arc cut so short for what it could have been.

Emotions were played with in the most basic, sit-com finale fashions. Numerous draw backs to filler jokes from the first episode. One of the lamest clip show montages of all time and just some concerning lack of attention to character arcs.

This show had something special that was rushed, for whatever reason and ultimately just went nowhere with. They gave it a good ol' happy Ted Lasso ending though it glanced over quite literally every problem faced in the entire show.

I believe the show is going to be renamed and keep going, which is almost sadder.

It's a sad night
jazzahi31 May 2023
Well there it is the ending of Ted Lasso! So sad as I have enjoyed this series so much and I am not a soccer fan in any shape or form. This was a great ending only a few questions, who did Keeley pick? Does Ted get back with his ex- wife? Overall I loved it but very sad at the last second, I did not want it to end!

I'm sure in a few months or so I will start from the beginning all over and still enjoy every minute. Even though there were some yankie actors in it I'm glad they didn't flog it to death like the yanks do and as all British series they leave off in a good place before it becomes a drag to watch....not enough space to write all the shows flogged by the Americans Your shift has ended Ted Lasso.

Warning: Spoilers
I can only say that the ending is perfect... every character got the best ending Ted Lasso will always be in our hearts.

Spoiler I was hoping Ted Laso would win the English Premier League. The team has evolved for 3 seasons, automatically. All the players and all the technical staff are the best version of themselves.

The story ended in a perfect way, but winning the league would make it a more than perfect ending

Especially Jimmy Tarat, at the beginning of the series, he was the selfish and arrogant star, but by the end of the third season, he became a collaborative and collective player, and he cared about the interest of the team..one of the best 3 characters in the series.

Beautiful ending to a beautiful show
brandonmckay87 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Such a truly beautiful written & acted series finale that captured all the things that made 'Ted Lasso' great. The heart, the humour, the football. The "So Long, Farewell" song & dance at the start was a great throwback feeling to when they attempted "Bye Bye Bye", the reassembling of the 'believe' sign which was a wonderful touch & to show the growth of Roy him asking to join the diamond dogs was great to see. Jamie Tartt arguably had the most complete character arc of the whole show so to see the selflessness in the last game was wonderful! & of course the show couldn't end without one more epic coach beard scene! Ted Lasso ends back at home & coaching his son. Thank you, Ted Lasso for 3 incredible seasons! I hope we see a spin-off with either the current team & Roy as manager or the women's team they introduced!

Life Lesson After Life Lesson After Life Lesson ... but doled out with a gentle heart
MovieBuff54542 June 2023
I loved this entire show and the Season 3 Finale was almost perfect. It is rare that a TV show has such an impact on my daily life, but "Ted Lasso" has done it time after time. It has changed how how interact with people and all for the better. "Ted Lasso" makes me a kinder person, a better parent and a good citizen of life. I laugh, I cry, I cheer and I boo while watching this show. The show has more than heart, it has captured my heart. It is almost embarrassing how much I like this show and the way that I sing its accolades. One of the most fun aspects was watching the callbacks to previous episodes (example: the Kintsugi mending of the "Believe" sign). Also, the way it gives shout outs to other TV shows and to movies with subtle references. Watch "Ted Lasso". Watch it more than once.

Warning: Spoilers
Bring your tissue's with you my friend, you're going to watch one of the best and emotional episode ever.

An emotional episode by all measure, I can't describe how I felt, about the dance in the beginning, the speech, the dialogue between actors, this was a beautiful story coming to end.

I'm sure our directors are fans of the game and they know the true passion behind it, the fans are the ones who own the game, cherish it, and love it the most, the relationship between Rebbeca and her Fans is unbelievable, beautiful and enjoyable to watch, I just have one more wish to have Ted lasso for one more season.

George Head( Rupert) is one the greatest villain in Television history, to see the kid who used to sneak his way into stadium called bad words by his own fans is hard to watch, heartbreaking, Hate him or love him, the ending scene for Rupert is sad.

Beautiful Finale, Beautiful series, Enjoy every episode to the end.

Oh and by the way, the song chosen are the best. Good job Lads

Believe.

A beautiful ending to Richmond's beautiful game
dee-regan1 June 2023
I'll start by saying I don't bother writing reviews on IMDB. I'll second that by stating I am not a football fan in any way, shape or form.

However, I needed a show to download onto my Mac when I moved house 6 weeks ago and had no internet or Sky for 2 weeks. On a recommendation I downloaded Ted.

I can honestly say that this is one of the best TV shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

Watching what at the beginning was almost a cartoonish portrayal of characters, to fully formed personalities whose lives and issues resonated with me (and all of us I'm sure) was sheer pleasure and joy.

In a world of entitlement, anger, frustration and doom, Ted and his team have reminded me that happiness and positivity are infectious. Without sounding overly saccharine sweet about it all, I've remembered to be nice to people again.

Quite an accolade for a TV show.

STUCK THE LANDING
dbeagan-339952 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I would be the first one to say I want to spend more time in the Lasso Universe. I would love to see how Sam does on the Nigeria national team; How the Richmond FC does with Roy, Beard and Nate; How Keely and Rebecca do with the women's team; Be a fly on the wall in therapy sessions between Roy and Dr. Sharon; To see how things fare with all of the families: Beard and Jane, Jade and Nate, the Higgins, Rebecca in Amsterdam, and especially Ted/ Michelle and Henry. But you don't try and improve the Mona Lisa. You can ask for more, but you can't improve on perfection. I know that the creators could make a boat load of money by continuing the series, But to paraphrase Sam in Casablanca, I bet they don't have time to spend all the money they made. Pencils down, and thank you all.

The perfect ending
liquidfionn31 May 2023
Lasso had highs and lows this season but it ended with the perfect finale. One of the best final episodes I can remember.

It made all the right callbacks, didn't get lost in the plot lines that sidelined the season and gave us a satisfying conclusion to the story of Ted Lasso.

There were some open threads but those can be saved for a spinoff or movie. The best thing about this episode that it put a true ending on the three story arc we had.

It felt like everything great about Lasso while not touching or going to deep on the faults that sidelined it through its seasons. Great landing of the plane, and kudos to ending Ted's story on the perfect final chapter.

Good Bad Wired
anafarm31 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this series because of my special interest in football, From the beginning Ted's cute and wise character impressed me and I was fascinated by watching its many episodes.

I really enjoyed the meaning of believing in yourself, in your dreams and your efforts in life the value of life.

Ted was like a teacher by our side and humbly taught us many lessons that we cannot forget.

But this ending was somehow incomplete and ineffective.

The most important question that arises is how did Ted's life go in the end?

Is he going to live only for his son Henry? Without love?

What happened to Michelle?

Even the fate of the other characters remains incomplete.

A lot of time was spent on the triangle of Kaylee, Roy and Jamie, but do they really have an ending?

The only positive part of their story was Roy and Jamie's friendship.

What about Rebecca? She deserved a better life.

Sharing a fate with someone she only met once was too fancy and strange.

We couldn't understand the problem of Dr Sharon also.

What happened to her?

Perhaps the only one who got justice was Rupert.

He got what he deserved and I am happy about his dark fate.

Anyway thank you for making this memorable series, but I hope it doesn't end like this and it will continue with more seasons.

Goodbye coach Ted lasso, We won't forget you and your team.

Disappointing ending
kananthornton31 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So Ted ends up with nobody and all he gets after 3 years is going back to be a good dad? He was already a good dad. That was never an issue in the show. All he did was miss 3 years of being a dad and all that happened was worth missing that? Ted's ending should have been given more thought. All that to get second place? Why? How did getting second benefit the story? Roy and Keeli's ending together was not interesting in the slightest. Jamie hasn't been fighting to be with Keeli until this episode so where did that come from? Coach Beard's ending was fine. Rebecca's ending was solid. However, with the show being over, her and Sam's random fling means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of the story. It added nothing so it took the value of the show down by even having them get together. Overall, most of the ending was no better than fine. Bland ending for Ted, failed subversion of expectations for them getting second, and overall just bland endings for everybody besides Rebecca. So disappointing.

Superb Farewell
mr-altex10 June 2023
I've seen a lot of series that had quality during the seasons with botched final episode, but I am very glad Ted Lasso wasn't the case.

They struck the right amount of optimism to the future with closure for all characters by leaving hints, or opening doors to further character development. It reminded me the final episode of Scrubs (season 8, not the crappy follow up season) in a lot of aspects.

Overall Ted Lasso as series is great and I'd say perhaps one of the best of series from the past 10 years and I will recommend this to everyone who will want to check some feels good series that is neither short or over stretched.

They stuck the landing...
krupocin-131 May 2023
I honestly would've given S3 a 5/10 overall up until this point, I thought it lost what made this show special, at least from my own personal POV. Strange pacing, social issues (almost all of which I agree with, mind you) stuffed into storylines in a way that came off as preachy, Nate redeeming some pretty horrible behavior by making a box with colored construction paper and writing an apology note to one guy, so much time spent away from the team/pitch and the setting that allows the characters to shine, etc etc

So I didn't have much hope for this finale, especially since we knew the ending already from news reports earlier in the season about Sudeikis and the show's future.

Well, they completely surprised me with what turned out to be one of the best episodes of Ted Lasso so far. A lot of the messy storylines were resolved quickly but they more importantly were resolved satisfyingly. Most of the episode spent with the team on the pitch or in the locker room or everyone else in the owners box and office. We got the Diamond dogs again, probably the funniest ongoing gag imo, and best of all the social issues included (which were fewer than S3 usual) all fit the plot perfectly and didn't stick out.

It's bittersweet, because it will make me miss the show yes, but also bittersweet because this episode showed the writers still had this in them, the ability to recapture what made the show special early on, and it's almost a cautionary tale of what not to do. Luckily though, just like Nate, we got a last minute redemption at the end.
