In 2005, the non-profit organization Schweizer Tierschutz STS (Swiss Animal Protection SAP) shocked the world with horrifying images of the barbaric killing of foxes, dogs, minks and common raccoon dogs on Chinese fur farms. Activists filmed the gruesome skinning of common raccoon dogs while still alive, the killing of dogs by throwing them on the ground, and various other forms of brutal abuse, all captured on hidden cameras. The documentary runs for 14 minutes. Schweizer Tierschutz STS returned to China four years later, releasing a second documentary, "Die Pelzindustrie Chinas" (2009). They took significant risks to unveil what should have remained hidden from the world.
