"Unraveling the Mysteries of Ancient Marine Life: The First Swimmers in the Ocean"
haomaa15 December 2023
"While the Netflix documentary 'Life on Our Planet' provides fascinating insights into the history of life on Earth, it's important to note that the claim about jellyfish being the first animals to swim freely in the ocean around 530 million years ago is not entirely accurate. The first ancestors of fish or animals closely related to fish began to swim around this time. Jellyfish, while ancient, are not believed to have evolved until about 505 million years ago. The transition from the seafloor to free swimming was a significant evolutionary step that paved the way for the diverse marine life we see today."
