- [as Kyle, presumed dead, arises from the autopsy table and flees]
- Kate Beckett: Castle, call for backup!
- [runs in pursuit]
- Richard Castle: [picking up phone] How, How do I...
- M.E. Sidney Perlmutter: Nine.
- Richard Castle: Nine.
- Richard Castle: [dials, then to Perlmutter] Is there a police code for "zombie on the loose"?
- Richard Castle: I'm actually surprised at your interest in this case, Mother.
- Martha Rodgers: Well, I really do know the difference between a first-rate makeup job and actual decay. You wanna see some real zombies, check out the red carpet at the Tony Awards.
- Richard Castle: Charlie has not been wrong yet. Maybe our killer is Patient Zero, out there right now on the streets of New York, building an army of the undead.
- Kate Beckett: Castle, what we are looking for is *not* a zombie but a very smart criminal who murdered David Lock and is now making our only witness look crazy. And he also dressed up in makeup and a costume to hide his identity.
- Richard Castle: Unless that's not costume or makeup.
- Kevin Ryan: I mean, he does... look like a real zombie.
- Javier Esposito: A real zombie? I'm embarrassed for you, bro.
- Kate Beckett: Okay, then explain this. Why would a zombie go after a currency trader at 4 AM in a garage?
- Richard Castle: [to Ryan] This one's easy.
- [to Beckett]
- Richard Castle: The more intelligent the victim, the more delicious the brains.
- Kevin Ryan: Castle, do you really believe in all this zombie stuff? Because I-I would *swear* on my nana's grave that Kyle Jennings was dead.
- Richard Castle: No. You know what I do believe in? Driving Beckett crazy.
- M.E. Sidney Perlmutter: [Beckett is surprised to see Perlmutter in the emergency room] I'll have you know I am perfectly capable of treating living patients. I simply prefer not to.
- Kate Beckett: What did you find at the crime scene canvass?
- Javier Esposito: Nada. Only in New York can some guy dress like a frigging zombie and walk down the street unnoticed.
- Javier Esposito: He's not a zombie, Castle. He's just a murderer.
- Richard Castle: Well, then, what was his motive for murder, Detective Esposito?
- [Esposito gives him a look]
- Richard Castle: Kyle sold insurance. He had no criminal record. There's no evidence he even knew our victim.
- Kate Beckett: He's a human killer, with a human motive.
- Richard Castle: Or he's a zombie killer, with a zombie motive.
- Kate Beckett: [answers phone] Beckett.
- Richard Castle: [whispers to Ryan] Tasty brains.
- M.E. Sidney Perlmutter: What is it, Castle?
- Richard Castle: No, I was just... wondering... before this man died, he was behaving exactly like a zombie. Is there any medical way to determine if he actually... was... one?
- [Beckett scoffs]
- M.E. Sidney Perlmutter: Why is he in my morgue?
- [last lines]
- [in Zombie makeup and voice, looking into the camera and breaking the forth wall]
- Richard Castle: This isn't over.
- Kevin Ryan: [Escorting witnesses dressed as zombies out of the interrogation room] Alright, ladies, thanks for your help.
- Javier Esposito: [Gesturing to one woman] Don't know about those shoes with that top. I'm just sayin'. I woulda went open toed.
- [first lines]
- [while reading, Alexis is startled by and electronic blast behind her only to find Castle in his laser tag outfit]
- Alexis Castle: Dad! What are you doing?
- Richard Castle: You have 30 seconds to suit up.
- Alexis Castle: I...
- Richard Castle: The game is afoot.
- Alexis Castle: Dad...
- Richard Castle: Wait... Let me savor this... Haven't got the drop on you since you were 10. Ah, this feels like... victory.
- Richard Castle: Being a fan of zombie lore, I get it. But what's the appeal of being a zombie? Like look at this guy. Who would want to be alive in a decayed, mindless state? Being a vampire - that I understand. That's the romantic route to immortality. The, uh, gentlemen's monster, as it were.
