XIII managed to get a second series. I do not think I could put up with much more of the see saw storyline with XIII and the various presidents of the USA.

That's the problem with conspiracy thrillers. It can get boring as well as confusing. Roger Avary joined as the showrunner. He won an Oscar as the co-writer of Pulp Fiction.

The first episode basically sets up a new storyline. XIII has kept his head down and lived off the grid.

During an anti-globalization protest, he comes to the rescue of Betty Barnowsky who was getting a beating by the police.

His association with Betty beings XIII to be involved with a radical activist group called the Veil. They want to take direct action but only XIII has the skills and knowhow.

Back at Washington President Carrington fears his re-election chances are being jeopardised by a candidate going for the housemom vote.

While Jones is now in government and trying to get the Chinese to agree with green issues. Only Amos wants no deals with the enemy.

Some sprawling storylines getting started. I just thought the government stuff with Carrington and Amos was dull compared to XIII's story.

It also looked cheap some of the CGI was bad.
