  Lt. Lewis Martin : You look in that room, you see your colleagues, your friends in jeopardy, but your concern is not gonna get them out of there any sooner. And believe me, it might help get them dead. You want your friends back? Let me do my job.

• Joanne Webster : Forensically, Roe's story adds up. The bullet was from Roe's gun. The victim was shot in the chest. The angle of entry was almost perpendicular.

  Al Burns : What about toxicology?

  Joanne Webster : David had no drugs or alcohol in his system, but his hands and his clothes were free of all gunshot residue. Certainly, he did not fire a gun.

  Al Burns : Roe never said he used it.

  Joanne Webster : Well, even if you just hold a gun, I can often find trace elements of residue from the last time the gun was fired.

  Al Burns : Boy, the press is gonna have a field day with those lab results.

  Joanne Webster : You know, the lab's been awfully slow lately. I'm not sure I got those ballistics reports back as quickly as I had hoped.

  Al Burns : Buy us a little breathing room.

  Joanne Webster : I'll look into it.
