- Lafayette continues to fight his inner demons. Eric and Bill interrupt Sookie and Alcide and enlists them in their search Russell Edgington. Alcide's employee Doug is the only person who can lead them to him and when Sookie reads his mind, they know who may have dug him up. They also learn they only have until dawn to find him. Terry and Richard are taken prisoner by their former army buddy who tells then they are cursed as he saw a fire demon after the village massacre in Iraq. Terry realizes he saw it as well. Jason has a strange dream involving his parents. Andy Bellefeur wakes up naked on Arlene's couch. Tara is tending bar at Fangtasia and Jessica tries to cheer her up. She begins to see there might be an upside to being a vampire. Sam Merlotte's friends are found dead and he tries to warn Luna that she may be in danger.—garykmcd
- Open with Sookie and Alcide fooling around. He says "I've waited so long for this" and she promptly vomits on his shoes. Alcide looks up and sees Bill and Eric standing in the doorway.
Lafayette is battling with his witch alter ego. He asks God to help him and promptly figurines come to life and start talking to him. Lafayette asks Jesus to give him a sign if he's out there.
Eller ties up Terry and Patrick and asks if they were followed by "anything."
Jason dreams about one of his childhood memories. He looks up and sees bite marks in both of his parents' necks. He wakes up when his phone rings and we see he's nude. Andy also wakes up nude on the couch and seems to get a similar phone call.
Alcide doesn't like the idea of Sookie helping Bill and Eric find Russell especially getting Doug involved who was glammed and does not remember anything. They don't seem to care what he thinks. Sookie laughs at the ridiculousness of her life and agrees to help hunt Russell.
Pam has Tara bartending at Fangtasia. Pam warns her not to feed in public at what is now her bar.
Sookie reads a guard's mind and learns that a female member of the Authority dug Russell up with her bare hands. At first Bill doesn't believe Eric when he says he didn't tell anybody they buried Russell alive.
Cut to Nora, who based on the necklace seems to be a likely suspect for the person who dug up Russell. She looks at the security camera in her cell and says "we will rise up." She's promptly hit with a UV ray. In another room Salome orders Bill and Eric be told they have until dawn to find Russell or they will be terminated. Salome goes to see Roman, who is deeply impacted by Chancellor Drew "losing his way" with respect to mainstreaming. She tells him with the Sanguinista are gaining ground and thinks he should "control the message" on his terms.
Terry and Patrick are convinced Eller's the one who has been setting fires. He comes in and tells them a crazy story about the fire in one of the first doing strange things. He thinks a fire monster, an Ifrit, is to blame. Eller thinks one of the women in Iraq cursed them during the massacre. Terry flashes back to the woman surviving he shooting, but Patrick ordering him to kill him. Terry points his gun at her and right before he kills her she says: "May the Ifrit burn you all and everything you've ever loved."
Andy and Jason are called to the scene of Sam's shifter friends' murder. Jason briefly sees Emory and Suzanne as his parents with vampire bites. They talk about the other night and interacting with the faeries. Andy wants to avoid that place, saying he has a good thing going with Holly. Sam tells Andy he found Emory and Suzanne dead. He tells Andy they were shifters.
Jessica sits at the bar at Fangtasia. She and Tara compare makers and Jessica says "It gets better." Jessica assures Tara that her vampire feelings aren't bad.
Using that same security guard's thoughts, Sookie guides them to a remote location. Bill and Eric try to figure out why Nora would release Russell. Bill gets a call that their stakes are set to activate at dawn. They arrive at a complex of large buildings and try to part ways with Sookie. She reminds them that her fingers are one of the few things with any power over Russell.
Jason finds a wooden bullet in a tree near the crime scene. Andy spots tire tracks that indicate where the shooter stood.
Sookie guides them to a large dark room and they find a pile of dead human bodies. "Seems like we're in the right place," says Eric.
Tara runs into Hoyt outside the bar. He propositions her, but she turns him down.
Terry continues to flash back and we see the soldiers burning the bodies. As the bodies burn Terry recalls seeing spirits of some kind float out of the fire. In present day Terry tells Eller he say the Ifrit. Terry tell Eller they need to leave, that this situation is exactly what the Ifrit has been waiting for. Eller unties them and Patrick immediately knocks him out. Terry tells him he wasn't kidding, but Patrick doesn't want to hear it. Terry leaves and Patrick ties Eller to a chair. Patrick thinks the drugs are what made Patrick see those things and assures him there is no thing as an Ifrit. Down in the compound the Ifrit engulfs Eller in his chair.
Lafayette wakes up and sees Jesus's head sitting on the table with his mouth sewn shut. He freaks out. The head also appears to Ruby. She seems to understand what Jesus is trying to say.
They find a room that appears to be where Russell's victims are kept before feeding. One of them is still alive and tells Bill where the people are taken.
Sam pays Luna a visit and tells her about Emory and Suzanne. Luna is shocked by the deaths as Sam tries to comfort her. She asks him to leave. He walks outside and runs into a pickup truck filled with men wearing masks. One shouts "Hey shifter" and shoots Sam. Luna walks outside and is shot several times. Emma walks outside and avoids their shots, turning into a wolf and running off. Luna appears to be dead.
We listen to Roman speaking to vampire leadership about aggressively fighting for the issues of mainstreaming while we see: Jason visiting his parents' graves and Tara and Jessica fighting over Hoyt in Fantasia's bathroom.
Bill, Eric, Sookie and Alcide find a weakened-looking Russell lying in a hospital bed. Eric says they are there to "finish what we started." Russell says "give it your best shot" as the episode ends. Alcide, who is standing behind the rest of the group, appears to have been attacked.
