Peacock is getting a few steps closer to Community‘s “six seasons and a movie” promise as the streamer’s follow-up film continues to take shape, but in the meantime, the comedy’s six seasons will finally come to the platform beginning Monday, April 1. The series originally aired on NBC for five seasons from 2009 to 2014 when it was canceled by the network. Ultimately, fan fervor and support led to the show’s saving by the now-defunct Yahoo! Screen where the sixth and final season originally streamed. (Credit: Peacock) Now, the show’s long-prophesied “six seasons and a movie” is about to be a reality as Peacock previously announced plans for Community: The Movie, from original series creator Dan Harmon and executive producer Andrew Guest. In anticipation of the film’s arrival, all six seasons will be streamable to Peacock subscribers this spring, allowing fans to relive their favorite episodes and...

“Community” creator Dan Harmon is inching closer to the finish line for the “movie” portion of his “Six Seasons and a Movie” prophecy.
Following up on former “Community” star Donald Glover’s recent assertion that a script is already in the can, Harmon told Variety that it was almost right. According to Harmon, he’s “almost done” working on the script for the highly-anticipated film, which is set to run on NBCU’s Peacock streaming service.
“I can confirm Donald Glover’s report that I told him the script was done, but I will also say Donald’s sources are so unreliable because the script is always ‘almost done,'” Harmon quipped. “What can I tell you about it — it’s set on the campus of Greendale Community College. I’m super excited about it, and we’re almost done.”

After seven years, a Community movie was finally announced, fulfilling the promise of “six seasons and a movie” that was teased and became somewhat of a running joke among fans. However, thanks to an update from Community star Joel McHale, we now know that it will be even longer before the movie reaches our screens.
In an interview with TVLine, McHale confirms that production on the movie, which was scheduled to begin in June, has been delayed by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. McHale does say that it was a “bummer” to have to halt production after waiting so long for the movie, but he goes on to share his support for the writers saying “But at the same time, I’m a thousand billion percent behind the writers. The writers need to be paid.”

Thirteen years after the comedy-mystery series “Monk” ended its successful eight-season run on the USA Network, star Tony Shalhoub and many of his cast mates are set to reprise their roles in the Peacock original telefilm “Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie.” Shalhoub is also serving as co-executive producer on the new project along with former “Monk” team members Andy Breckman, David Hoberman, and Randy Zisk.
Shalhoub, who played fastidious sleuth Adrian Monk on the original show, will be rejoined by supporting players Ted Levine (Capt. Stottlemeyer), Jason Gray-Stanford (Lt. Disher), Traylor Howard (Natalie Teeger), Melora Hardin (Trudy Monk), and Héctor Elizondo (Dr. Bell). The new movie will also prominently feature a currently undisclosed actress in the role of Monk’s stepdaughter, Molly Evans, who was first portrayed by Alona Tal (“Little Fires Everywhere”) in the series finale.
