In this fifth and final season, the show has turned as black as it is possible to be. From the beginning the writers have continually injected dream sequences. The principle characters wake up after reliving a convoluted version of events they lived through. McClaren's contact with the dead woman is central to every element here. Patty strong arms everyone, including the SEC guy. She seems to have dirt on everyone. The problem for these people is that she will follow through so there is no calling of bluffs. The most critical stuff seems to be that purchased from the Samurai guy, who hoodwinked both lawyers and then paid with his life. We are also treated to more of Patty's ugliness when she goes to see her dying father. I'm not sure what really went on with the two of them. Meanwhile, McClaren makes allowances for the autistic boy who is being abused. Moving right along to the inner circles of hell.
