Generic Thriller

An unoriginal and predictable but still watchworthy revenge & justice driven thriller that depended a hell lot on misleadings through characters and one or two situations to like hide the predictability a bit but it didn't work as the film had an old school twist riddled thriller template with an absolutely nonspicy screenplay to it which made the guessing game uninteresting and almost weak.

Hareesh Uthaman felt like the lead irrespective of the gender here as Aparna Balamurali's character felt underwritten as well as underperformed... yes even with the lesser screentime that she had.

The movie was touted to be an emotional thriller (certificate il anganau achadichitullathu) but i don't know if they meant it as an emotionally driven thriller or as a gut wrenching thriller, either way it was not....not even close.

Good for timekilling..... I guess.

Engaging Thriller !!!

A gripping thriller that successfully keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The first half of the movie captivates with its suspenseful storytelling. However, in the 2nd half and towards the end, the pacing slows down as viewers start to figure out what's happening.

Aparna Balamurali once again proved with her versatile performance, Kalabhavan Shajohn with his usual 'Drishyam' style 'disgusting' villain police officer manarisms ruled the screen and Harish Uthaman with his style in converging the dialogue presentation made his role a mesmerising one.

Nevertheless, the overall movie remains a decent thriller. Once again, the Malayalam movie industry impresses with its ability to create engaging thrillers like this.

Just about average

After seeing the IMDb rating, I decided to watch this on OTT. The movie was just about average . Not much of a suspense in it and was predictable for most parts. The initial half an hour of the movie keeps you at the edge of the seat, after that u get a clear idea where the plot is going forward. Aparna balamurali saved this movie from being just another political influence story. Kalabhavan shajon once again delivered his best as a police officer. The one who did the role of superior police with Tamil language also did a good job. The director could have added few more twists but decided to follow the predictable script. You can just about watch it once.

A very engaging Thriller !

A refreshing and engaging thriller. Amazing performance by all the actors and the story is the backbone of this movie. I love how unlike other thrillers I couldn't guess or predict the storyline. The suspense that's build is beautifully unravelled throughout the movie. The role of each character is clearly justified in the movie and wonderfully plays a role in the plot. The way questions are formed and answered through the story line is incredible. Oh let me correct myself how a answers creates a lot of questions ( hence - Every answer has a question) and wonderfully answered (Inni uthaaram) is beautifully crafted by the plot. I loved the experience and would definitely recommend to all thriller lovers!

Below average thriller

Not very engaging, lots of flaws in story line . Also it could be evident from the film that this is low budget film from many places . The director miserably failed to convey the story with the audiance. It is a failed thrilling attempt . I would say One time watchable. Acting wise all the actors try their level best . But as an audience we always got a feeling that some essence is missing in the film . The poor story line failed to convince many things . Aparna Balamurali performance , hareesh uthaman ,kalabhavan shajon ,siddique, jaffer Idukki performed well as usual . But the poor script spoiled the entire experience.

Every moment and every frame of the movie was so thrilling. Ten minutes after the movie started. The Director utilized all actor's possibilities even those who appear in a single frame. The terrific appearance of Forest at the beginning of the film proves Cameraman's seizing eyes The audience will leave with the thought that Climax will be a new beginning.

Tried too much and failed.

The initial half hour or so is so good that it made me think why on the world did this film bomb at the boxoffice but as the movie went on i realized the many flaws in the plot.

This had the ingredients for being made into a good thriller but the director seemingly went for the wow factor (atleast that's what he meant) and in doing so has let down the story. And in the end the whole movie finishes off as a generic thriller film that you could watch with your family and kill some time but for the much keener audiences who expect a mysterious film please look away.

Aparna Balamuralis character felt under written and under performed making her role feel like a extended cameo.

Terrific Thriller

After drishyam 2 its is a terrifying experience to watch this movie till the end .The director so brilliantly executed to maintain its suspense through out subsequently the viewers can able to watch the movie with goosebumps. Actor Aparna and the police man who lead main role in the movie done their job appreciably. A must watch movie with perfect script and direction.

Siddique and shajon maintained their role very well .In the begining we will be surprised to see a women is surrendering for murder without any fear Infront of police .At that time itself we can smell the thread of suspensefull.

Predictable, dull, boring

First half was engaging but soon it gets predictable. The movie had potential but blame the loose writing and weak characterisation for the lack lustre impact. The performances are ok. The movie is dragged to about 2 hours but the plot isn't even worth one hour. Good I decided to watch this alone. Good work by the trailer and promotion team to garner attention but the movie disappoints. The cop was interesting but again not impactful so much so someone had to describe his nature and yet fall flat. Overall, not worth your time. Wishing the team better efforts next time. Thanks to VI I could watch this for free.

Ini Utharam is the movie to watch! No gimmicks, no time wasting, the story was focused and no cut out for games. We were hooked from the very first second till the end. A mind-blowing script that'll leave you in awe

DELICIOUS

-Let's just say that the writer's brain must have been working overtime to come up with such a massive story.

We even gave up trying to figure out how the plot would unfold because there were so many turns and new developments. Plus, the diverse characters empowered the narrative. The suspense level was very high

-Cinematography was great. Camera angles were used in an adequate way to make everyone appear suspicious

-Harish Uthaman really redeemed himself in this role by intriguing us with his behavior

-The director didn't waste time. The story already started simmering at 22 minutes, taking us into the meat of the plot with a good balance of relaxed and intense moments

-The movie was intentional in underlining Janaki's boldness to go alone to the police station, shake the entire department with such news, and be ready to face the consequences.

BLAND

-Aparna Balamurali once again (or should we say many times again) displayed the same old facial expression from beginning to end. To the point that even the chemistry with her lover felt odd and the romance fell out of place. She didn't own her lead role but was overpowered by fellow actors.

Textbook Example of How Not to Make a Thriller Film

The film lacks originality and fails to provide a fresh experience for viewers who enjoy thrillers. It simply follows the usual formula of contemporary thrillers in terms of technique, character development, storyline, dialogues, camera work, and background music. There are no distinguishing features that make it stand out from other films in this genre. Ultimately, it becomes a film only for those who appreciate crime movies without expecting any innovative elements.

amazing thriller.

Ini utharam... whahhh... an awesome creativity... awesome thriller.....It is a perfect movie for who intend to watch thriller movies.. . The storyline is good. I liked it, The locations showned in this movie also beautiful. The thing is that , its really a suspense thriller. I couldnt predict what gonna happen soon. No boring.....The all actors in this movie have played their roles very well, Harish Uttamans who played the role of SP was outstanding.. no words... and Aparna Balamurali, Chanthunaths SI character and Kalabhavan Shajon have acted very well. I recommend to Watch this movie........

This is the first time in my life that 2 hours passed so quickly. Every moment and every frame of the movie was so thrilling. Ten minutes after the movie started, the fire brought by Aparna Balamurali did not end even after the movie ended. ,Kalabhavan Shajon and Hareesh Uthaman's, Jaffar Idukki's performances is definitely at upper level. The Director utilized all actor's possibilities even those who appear in a single frame. Brilliant & intriguing

Beautifully done! What a powerful story _ done in such a brilliant way. It starts like an open and shut case & quickly builds intrigue that leads you to question the current reality. It's a subtle whodunnit whilst knowing the perpetrator. The essence of the story of how the perpetrator was caught with so much media attention (planned) so that he can't escape or change evidence or wriggle out of the situation. It's a beautifully done revenge story and i thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling, the acting, the way the story unfolded, big bang start & an interesting end. A must watch. I wish malyalam movies for more global recognition.

An enthralling ride backed with a strong story, severly underrated flick

I don't understand why movies like this are not getting a good reach. I remember reading some good reviews last year but I couldn't watch it then. It's a great film with a strong story and the creators have done a good job overall.

Harish Uthaman is a classy actor, often captivating, he had a solid role throughout and his dialogue delivery was top-notch. Aparna was also fine and she is the lead character in this film. The color grading of the movie somehow didn't make an impact. These days aspects like color grading are very important. But apart from that it's a very good thriller movie and one of the best Malayalam films of 2022. Do give it a watch if you like thrillers, this one is a variety flick from Mollywood.

a perfect crime thriller

First of all hats off to the writer to wrote this film

malay writers know how to give a good story vibes in a film

positive 1. Story - superb story writting 2. Story execution - loved that the story execution moved through to the end 3. Some BGM was good 4. The climax - now climax happens in the end of the film , but in this one the climax is in the middle and that will give you goosebumps 5. No melodrama scene , no extra screen time - all was proper in time

negative 1. Performances was average not that great ,but its ok 2. Just not needed if the film ending climax could be better actually

overall a good decent one time watch crime thriler recommended.
