Grieving for his son Josh, who drowned, Ed is struggling financially, and struggling to adapt to his daughter Abbie's new flashy boyfriend Ed.
Michael Crompton's writing skills were definitely missed during the recent series of Silent Witness, but good to see that he was kept busy here, and there is some quality to this.
You take your life in your hands with channel 5 dramas, they're either very good, or they're atrocious, this.....
A very good start I thought, I really enjoyed this first episode, the whole stranger entering a small community was intriguing, and the haunted Ed was great, I'm a bit fan of Jason Watkins. Aneurin Barnard was fantastic.
What exactly happened to Josh, I'm sure there's more of a story to come.
8/10.
