Ok movie, but would not recommend it.
christofferrnilsson30 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The main plot of the movie is ok, but the actors performance are not so good. There are some parts of the script which are just stupid, for example when the guy lets the kid drive the ATV when trying to escape the Wolf. And when he lets the kid wander of in the middle of the night. It could have been a good movie if it was a little bit more realistic with regards to things like the ones i commented on above and the acting was a little bit better.

It is a beautiful story as the user "amybooksy" states, but it does not help to raise the movie above 5 stars due to the above mentioned flaws and the poor acting.

kids are the worst
SnoopyStyle19 March 2023
Jason (Lucas Black) is flying his girlfriend Noelle's two kids Sam (Kyleigh Bakker) and Ben (Roman Engel) to their grandparents' cabin. They have a bird strike and forced to land in the middle of the woods.

Kids are the worst. There is a life-and-death wilderness situation and the girl is all about the family melodrama. They leave the relative safety of the plane. I certainly understand him going to the ranger's cabin by himself. Of course, kids are the worst and they can't take care of themselves for a few days. The little one is even worst. "I got bored." Really? Almost every problem except the bird strike can be traced back to the kids. They burn down the cabin. They wreck the ATV. They keep almost getting themselves killed. Kids are the worst. Aside from that, this may be a Christian film. It's the undertone without being too preachy.

Above Average Faith-based film
A_Different_Drummer4 March 2023
Faith-based movies do not get the respect they deserve. Given the current state of civilization, we could do with more of them. A lot more. Tracked down this one to see the performance of Lucas Black. Black as a child actor was one of the best things in the classic TV series American Gothic. He stole every scene he was in, and read each line of dialog like his career depended on it. Which, arguably, it did. Here he is merely adequate as a father figure trying to connect with kids. The script wobbles. A lot. Runs the gamut from forgettable cliches to legitimate zingers. ("The cabin has electricity and running water." "So does a thunder cloud, but you wouldn't want to live in one!") In its class, Legacy Peak is above average, guaranteed to please its target audience. And the "survival" portion will hold interest for the broader audience. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." Some good intentions, but terrible execution
jaredtye25 October 2022
I wanted to like this movie. There are far too few movies today which are clean and innocent. Far too few films with a redeeming message.

But this movie was just bad. The main guy was trying way too hard. The kids' personalities were completely back and forth. There was no natural progression in how the daughter's attitude changed. The main villain being a pack of wolves was just laughable. And the Grampa at the end, what a random personality he had. I felt like this movie was made by a youth group and rushed before they had to go home from camp.

This is the film that made me realize it's past time to cancel the pureflix account. I wanted to like this movie.

Sadly not our thing.
krusty-236 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Yet another religious sermon disguised as a full length movie. Having watched around 20 minutes when the second "seek god's help" came into it we gave up. The daughter was too inconsistent & didn't take their dire situation seriously & the younger boy was also unconcerned they were in serious trouble.

It probably had good scenery but the acting was really bad & the story totally implausible. The plane crash was truly low budget & from recall just before the crash landing I thought that I saw several near by buildings or houses. Maybe I was wrong as I didn't rewind.

Not being a believer these movies really annoy me.

Fun, action filled, endearing movie.
timleonard-231475 January 2024
Beautiful scenery. Wish I knew where they filmed it.

Okay not a great movie but entertaining and a good plot. Some complained about the girls fluctuating attitude. The TEENAGE GIRLS attitude. Need I say more. Basically a human interest story with sound Christian philosophy mixed with action, adventure, and danger. This movie would make me want a Pure Flix subscription if I didn't already have one.

I had subscribed to Pure Flix previously and couldn't find content to keep my interest. I don't know what they have done but Pure Flix has really stepped up their game.

If you're tired of all the ugly tv shows available this is a breath of fresh air.

Bravo Pure Flix!

WHAT A HORRIBLE MOVIE!
trinash-230184 March 2024
I tried to get into this movie because the main actor's past works. He is a good actor. I was not expecting much from a faith base movie. Topical movie. However, this ridiculous movie took a turn for the worse when it shows these idiot characters not only crushing one poor wolf with boulders, but then shooting the other poor wolf.

How is that a Christian movie. Heck, even a family movie. I would not want my child to see something like that. I am an adult and could not bare to watch those horrible scenes.

They could not have just shot the gun in the air and scare the wolves off, really!!

The idiot writer(s) decided the storyline would work best, if the brutally killed the poor wolves!!!

What a horrible movie!!!!! Such a waste of my time.

I do not recommend this movie. Exspecailly if you are an animal lover.

Legacy Peak
amybooksy23 September 2022
I really enjoyed watching Legacy Peak. Not only is it a movie of fighting for survival, it is so much more. It is a beautiful story of learning that everyone has a painful past that they need to overcome and not letting it define you. It, also, shows the power of forgiveness, redemption and faith. I liked taking this adventure through the wilderness with Ben, Sam and Jason. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to find out if and how they would survive. I thought it was great to watch with the element of faith.

I am giving Legacy Peak a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for families of all ages.

I received an early screen link of Legacy Peak from Pure Flix, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Interacting with teenagers, learning from strangers to sharing memories together, is something worth experiencing
noshouse13 September 2023
From an adult's perspective, owning a light aircraft may seem like something only wealthy people do. But for kids, they may not understand the value of this kind of experience. Starting from being strangers, teenagers don't perceive adults from the perspective of wealth and looks. Teenagers have their own perceptions, and respect is earned through actions. In the first half of this movie, to be honest, I found teenagers hard to please. However, it's in the middle of the film, during the hardships, that Jason never uttered a harsh word and consistently acted as a role model, overcoming challenges related to food, water, and animals. Going through these experiences together with children and ending up hand in hand, cherishing everyone's safety, is a valuable lesson. For parents still struggling with teenagers at home, consider signing up for a camping trip or joining the same team in a competition. Turn opponents into teammates, strengthen your bond, and I wish you the best.

One of the best wildness and survival movies I've seen pertaining to what it is to be a dad!!!!
JoelPeterBrown27 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
'Legacy Peak' Spoiler Movie Review

life is too short, no one ain't got time for a long-drawn-out one!

The main characters in the movie are Jason, Ben, and Sam.

A brief summary of the plot is Jason, played by Lucas Black, is on an adventure to win the hearts of Noelle's kids before they marry. But when the plan falls apart and they struggle to survive, the new family's faith will be tested before they can start a life together.

The possible themes are dependency on God, family, relationships, prayer, faith, fear, wildness and survival, love, forgiveness, and reconciliation; at it goes to show you that mans heart plans his ways of taking his family on an adventure to win the hearts of his kids before he marries, but the Lord establishes his steps.

The moral for this story is a father stands in the gap, and whatever comes, nothing gets to his kids. Moreover, a good dad does what he can in whatever situation he finds himself in with his family, even if its not enough as the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.

The audience who would like this movie is fathers because its geared more towards them.

In my opinion of the movie, the introduction was different and erratic and captured my attention right from the beginning. The dialogue was clever and heartfelt at some points. The actors were talents and skilled and a fully rounded and three-dimensional character, who stayed truthfully and emotionally connected to their characters; to show hardwork, technique and good direction as they fully transformed into a belivable character. The soundtrack and SFX gave the movie more of a natural feel and appeal. I loved this movie because it was graceful, very natural based off of how real life family experiences can relate to the wild, and beautifully courageous. This is one of the best wildness and survival movies I've seen.

An example from the movie that spoke to me the most was when Jason said, "There is a story in the Bible. The sky opens up and in a voice from heaven, God the father says, 'This is my Son, my beloved Son.' This was before Jesus did anything. He hasn't healed anyone. No miracles. Hadn't died for anyone's sins. And God said, I love Him because of who He is, not because of what he has done.' And this knife is reminder of whatever happens, I love you because you're Ben.'"

Overall I would recommend the movie because I though it was an excellent story that anyone has and could have ever made that shows the various ways of how far a father would go to stand in the gap for his children, as all other stories that Hollywood has made just showcases how men survives without dependency on God verses the wild. This film was made in honor of all the dads who stood in the gap for their children. "Not to us but to your name be the glory" (Psalm 115:1b - NIV).

Can't get past the horrible kids
ktrawick1 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
From the start, the daughter is nothing but nasty. Her brother shows his colors when he just decides to keep a pocket knife found in the plane. If the main character had a half a brain, he'd have left the kids with anyone who would take them and forget about proposing. He will be marrying into a house full of brats. Plus, a mom who sends her kid off into the hills without his fricking coat doesn't say much for her. Why the pilot would think it a good idea to not let anyone know they were coming early, especially flying over a no cell service makes this a whole movie just too out there. Beautiful scenery, lackluster acting. Bummer, I like Lucas Black.

A Superb Family movie...... in every way.
huangfeihong7778 October 2022
I love seeing awesome actors like Lucas Black in really, truly, GOOD movies about GOOD things!! Especially movies that have been done really well!

There are a lot of great things about this movie, not the least of which is: the ultimate reality of blended families, aviation, wilderness survival, life lessons, the necessity of high quality parenthood, great cinematography, movies about fatherhood (or lack thereof), and many others.

It's just a great story! I plan to buy it on blu-ray as soon as it comes out!!! I want this one in my collection - digital and physical. I hope that the writers, actors, producers, and directors keep making more good stuff like this. THIS is an essential component of human existence - movies/stories/myths/examples of what GOOD is.... especially in an imperfect, cynical, apathetic, corrupt, and fallen world.

Great Christian movie
joette-6778310 March 2024
My family loved this movie. It's nice to watch a movie with my family that doesn't have half naked people and constant cursing. Real to life acting and believable. We need more Christian movies like this. The acting was very believable and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous . I bet this movie would look awesome on a big screen. Don't believe all the negative comments and try it for yourself. A lot of people don't like family movies with Christian values. It was so refreshing not to hear cursing in a movie . Lucas Black is a great actor but so was the rest of the cast. The teenager played her part so realistic and so did the young boy.
