Seemingly eight or nine months after the second series, the survivors discover a prison they can potentially use as a base.
This is a strong introduction to the third series that sets the scene well and has some quite macabre horror sequences.
The story follows the characters securing sections of the prison and is quite action heavy, whilst at the same time establishes that certain characters have changed significantly since the previous episode. It is pretty exciting and suspenseful. I like that the writers show us the character development with behaviour and do not resort to lazy exposition dialogue.
If good zombie slaying action is what you tune in for this episode does not disappoint. The violence, gore, and action is frequent and full of innovative little touches.
There is some absolutely fantastic art design that helps keep the atmosphere creepy and puts the viewer on edge. Some of the set design, lighting, and cinematography inside the dark prison corridors is brilliant.
All performances are great as ever.
