Kier Remembers Mark of the Devil

This 7-minute featurette is a nice, if limited, interview with Udo Kier who talks about the making of MARK OF THE DEVIL. The interview, which takes place inside a restaurant, is pretty good but clearly Kier hasn't remembered too much about the actual making. We do get to hear some interesting stories including how the original director only got credit due to a contract and Kier said it was too bad that others took over his job because they damaged the film. Also mentioned is the alternate ending where his character was supposed to be dragged down into a grave by several dead people. There are a couple stills of this sequence shown but who knows what happened to the original footage. Kier also comments on the violence, the low-budget production and of course the infamous vomit bags that were handed out originally. Overall this is a decent little interview, although they really don't go into great detail about anything. You will want to sit through the end credits as we get a few funny moments with Kier speaking his mind.
