First on screen appearance of Yaddle since Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999), and her first ever speaking role. Her dialogue suggests that Yoda's trademark "backwards speak" was unique to that character and not a trait of their entire race.
Bryce Dallas Howard voiced Yaddle, this makes her one of few people to both direct as well as act in a Star Wars project. She directed three episodes of The Mandalorian (2019) and one episode of The Book of Boba Fett (2021).
While most of the voice cast reprises their roles from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), Palpatine/Sidious is instead voiced by Ian McDiarmid, who originated the role in the original Star Wars trilogy and has portrayed him in every live-action appearance since. Ian Abercrombie, who initially voice Palpatine in the animated series, passed away during production on season 5. His replacement in the role, Tim Curry, suffered a stroke in 2012 and has only worked sporadically since.
