2014 is shaping up to be a stronger year for horror than 2013 was, and though the indie haunted-house flick Haunt didn’t make We Got This Covered’s list of the most anticipated frightfests opening next year, a solid first trailer suggests that the film might still be worth checking out.
Haunt focuses on a shy teenager (Harrison Gilbertson) who connects with his mysterious neighbor (Liana Liberato) after moving into a haunted house. When the pair mess around with a creepy box, they unknowingly release an evil spirit into the house.
The trailer, which you can check out below, highlights the film’s leads as well as Haunt‘s eerie tone. Nothing seems too shocking here, though the film’s strong cast may be reason enough for many to give it a watch:

"Have you been messing about with that box?" Time for another haunted house horror lined-up for the early 2014 theatrical season. IFC Films has debuted a trailer for Haunt, not to be confused with Vincenzo Natali's Haunter, totally different film. Haunt is an indie horror thriller starring Harrison Gilbertson ("Conspiracy 365", Blessed, Virginia) and Liana Liberato (Stuck in Love) as attractive teens discovering haunted house love for the first time. Oscar nominated actress Jacki Weaver (of Animal Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook, Stoker) plays a weird old lady. This looks like perfectly suspenseful, if you're into ghosts. Here's the first teaser trailer for Mac Carter's Haunt, originally from Yahoo: An introverted teen sparks with his new neighbor, and together the couple begins to explore the haunted house that is family has unknowingly just purchased. Described by Yahoo: "Liana Liberato plays Samantha, who prompts her new love interest Evan (Harrison Gilbertson...

Successful soundtracks are few and far between in Australia. Following the success of Baz Luhrmann.s Moulin Rouge (the soundtrack was the highest selling CD on the Aria charts in 2001), the only local soundtrack albums to have made a mark sales-wise have been compilations from TV.s Packed to the Rafters.
.The problem with most local films is that too few people see them to fall in love with and then buy the music,. says Sandcastle Studios chief executive, Chris Cudlipp.
The most notable exception to the rule last year was Red Dog, which grossed $21.3 million during its theatrical run. With a score by composer Cezary Skubiszewski and a collection of 70s rock, the music is often considered one of the stand out aspects of the film.
