This Girlfriends series once upon a time earned a dedicated following, attracted to its outre story lines, and often outrageous lesbian sex content. That foundation has been abandoned for this sloppy edition.
Low point brought back memories of amateurism and incompetence dating back to the '60s softcore porn era. Laney Grey is a therapist writing down her client's babble when she accidentally drops her pencil, heard clattering across the floor. The scene continues with her not reacting at all, and not even fetching her pencil -just full-speed ahead, no retakes en route to the all-important XXX climax. I guess they succeeded in shocking me.
Group therapy is the them here, with two sessions presented and flashbacks showing us the sexual anecdotes discussed by the participants. It's dumb and uninteresting.
Add to that a lousy cast and you've got an instant loser, hardly in keeping with the old Girlfriends standards.
