Funny

Laughed out loud at this sweet family comedy that makes good use of the combined talents of an excellent cast. The conceit of framing the show as a teenager's media project allows for dodgy videography and erractic editing that might annoy some viewers but simply adds to the charm for me. Especially the editing that is designed to look amateur but artfully enhances the comedic potential by mixing up the storyline. This particular episode makes fun of the liabilities of voucher marketing, something I personally regard more as a curse than a boon, but that's just me. It's a pleasure to see an ensemble interactingly as seemlessly as this funny fictional family. I'm looking forward to episodes to come.

I thought it was funny.

A Wowcher gift causes some mayhem for The Jessop Family.

I can see that this wasn't loved by fellow reviewers, but I must confess I really did enjoy it, I thought it was funny, I thought it was well observed humour, who on Earth wants a Wowcher as a birthday present.

Mum definitely reminds me of my Auntie, she's the sweet natured sort of person, that insists on buying us cakes, despite the fact that we're all on diets, she'll rock up with various cakes from Marks and Spencer, she'll say, it's just a treat.

There's a real pedigree in this cast, and I hope for better things, this could be great.

Good start, 7/10.

Mum's Birthday Voucher

Now dressed up with the even worse title of 'Here We Go' this is the latest BBC attempt at a 'traditional' sitcom, and sadly people like The Daily Mail seem to have taken the bait.

This is drivel - a poor knock off of other sitcoms that have worked for the corporation (to varying degrees of success) over the last few years.

Poor.

Woeful

Wonky camera work to show things from the son's POV in an attempt to be different sadly left the nation bored and with vertigo.

Never saw the pilot and I really wanted to like this as the cast are all amazing but sadly the script was lame and the whole "stuck in a car" thing was done far more successfully on Car Share.

The dialogue was awful, the cast did not appear believable as a family. No chemistry made them act more like strangers.

The cast are indeed very talented but this sitcom makes me wonder if we have finally run out of good, original ideas and talented scriptwriters.

Absolute Drivel

I'm a real Alison Fan, ever since Nuts in May and AP. I can't believe she read the script before accepting the role. I bet she regrets it.

Vomit inducing camera work. Terrible dialogue. Not in the slightest bit funny. Avoid; or, a void.
