Detective Maik Hofman mistrusts an arrogant wheelchair-bound woman's report as victim of another neighborhood robbery, now in her home for the disabled, so he checks her as well as the story. Constable Chiel Maas guards a club suspected to be the scene of cocaine trade, but things get out of hand into a traumatic experience for himself. Habitual criminal Barry is released early for good behavior, so senior constable Josh wants to keep an eye on him, but he manages to knock down a uniformed cop and turns against his motorbike driver accomplice for loosing the attaché case they were stealing for rather meager cash.

Maik investigates when the drowned corps of neophyte fisherman Erwin Spaans (19) washes up at the pier, as forensics finds traces of gross abuse including rape. His ma stoically says she expected him to die at sea like all his male ancestors and refuses to consider his hazing 'at Neptune's court' by Siel and Jochem got fatally out of hand. Chiel feels a looser since the nightclub incident until he recognizes and arrests the rapist at a school-kids demonstration. Ex-con Barry is late for a parole appointment due to frustrating flirting with a shoplifter who stuffs him with a restaurant bill. The post commander is already pissed off by HQ accounting, so Wouter's stupid partiality for an old mate in a dodge vehicles transaction gets no sympathy.

Chiem has a hard time working out why shy, sweet youngster Rudi Maasdijk, who was nearly fatally pushed in front of a streetcar by street thugs, mainly ethnic Moroccans, refuses like bystanders to identify the culprit. The reason is about as sad. Maik reluctantly checks on old Henk's corps, found at his modest home rotting for days, who left only a letter and a photograph to posh crone Cécile, but is pissed off by her uncooperative snob attitude to dig up their strangely intermingled past. Jeweler Marissing was victim of that year's third armed robbery, but denies firing the shot that chased the culprit. Josh confiscates his gun while rude to the press, so he's posted as undercover bodyguard. The robber returns, takes his partner hostage for a minute and is shot. However he's identified as illegal Armenian Bedros, whose respectable brother Aram has a remarkable story. Ex-con Barry starts working in city sanitation, where he has to clean up a marijuana farm.

Maik races against time to see Clyde Bonanga, an Brussels embassy employee, who killed a local rowdie with a single hand grip, identified as Liberian civil war criminal Clyde Mason, who probably committed a same MO murder on Henry Weeks's former fellow child soldier. Chiel finds rascal neighborhood mate Mees Jensen is involved in posting on YouTube images of feces eating by exasperated Suzan's junkie brother Sebastiaan de Wit. Josh and Zehra are puzzled by the case of a Turkish father who claims his own father is flying in from Turkey to kill his daughter at her wedding while bride Esin Aytac maintains her doted grandfather just adores her. Chief Woutyer handles IA and HQ his way. Barry cleverly robs a confiscated cannabis transport, the team's newest colleague's maiden day.

Maik Hofman investigates the case of a girl shot by a stray bullet. Her cellphone was stolen by a rehabilitated junkie, who probably called the paramedics. Chiel Maas investigates the fishy story that grandfather Verhoek was tricked by a girl pretending to need his pin-code to bring her best friend, his grandchild, cash, and finds the link with several similar embezzlement. Barry is robbed by foreign small drug-dealer Robbie and exacts bloody revenge.

Chiel and Josh are entangled in death threats against an alderman and various plausible motives, including car thefts leading to another murder. Barry encounters more dealer violence.

Maik traces an anonymous shot corps in a respectable hotel to an 'escort service', but not in time to prevent related violence. During a heat wave, Scheveningen beach must be patrolled. Josh needs Zehra's language skills to deal with mainly German tourist havoc. Chiel investigates on the dike the abuse of Polish contractor Mariusz Mazurek, who is hated by Jozef Meertens for dating his rebellious daughter Sanne, and soon has another crime on his hands. Barry hires a giant 'bodyguard' for his next drug deal, but the scum Ronnie set him up with starts a gun-fight which only Barry survives.

Maik investigates the murder at home of lawyer Emmerich, according to a scrooge client the doing of her ex Frans Bakker, a penniless artist from whom they extort absurd alimony although their son Fred chose to stay with dad. Frans's confession is obviously bogus. Chiel's newbie partner ignores his and the sergeant's warnings at her peril when coming too close to Barry's Turkish drug relations. Josh and Zehra deal patiently with a trio of shoplifting urchins.

Maik mistrusts Els Jansens's complaint that her daughter Eva is blackmailed by Antillian alleged lover-boy Roy Pasveer, a rude man who maintains his innocence. Eva calls her ma sour and overprotective, but is found to be involved in drug-related crimes. Chiel shows admirable self-control while his partner Marieke is in critical condition and helps closing in on drug-dealer Barry Vandezwam. Chile also helps solving the case of an apparent credit-card-theft, which turns out to be viciously kidnapping leading to a gunfight. Josh must separate soccer coach Wim Bekkers and a father, who accuse each-other of bullying the young players, including their sons, who would get along on their own.
