Jamie and Claire have finally returned to Scotland. Outlander Season 7 Part 1 ended with the pair gazing upon the shores of Jamie’s beloved homeland, eagerly awaiting a reunion with loved ones they haven’t seen in years. But if the past is any guide, things won’t go smoothly for the couple.
So, what awaits Jamie, Claire, Ian, and the show’s other characters going forward? Author Diana Gabaldon’s books offer some big clues about what fans can expect.
‘Outlander’ Season 7 is based on three different books Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan in ‘Outlander’ Season 7 | Starz
So far, each season of Outlander has roughly followed the story of one of Gabaldon’s novels. But season 7 – which has been split into two parts – is different. It draws from not one but three of the author’s books.

London, July 30 (Ians) Former England captain Michael Atherton hailed Stuart Broad after the veteran seamer’s announcement of retiring from all forms of cricket at the end of the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval.
Broad, who made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2007, will go down as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the sport. He sits in fifth place on the all-time list of Test wicket-takers and is one of only two fast bowlers to take over 600 wickets, alongside long-time bowling partner Jimmy Anderson.
Apart from this, he has picked 178 wickets in 121 ODIs and 65 wickets in 56 T20Is since his international debut in August 2006. “Great is an overused word sometimes but he is an undeniably great cricketer — 167 games, 602 wickets and that defining performance of 8-15 against Australia at Trent Bridge.

New Delhi, July 26 (Ians) England’s quest for winning the Ashes 2023 ended when day five of the fourth Test was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Old Trafford. It meant the Ben Stokes-led side could not push for a victory, as England played a draw for the first time since they changed their approach to playing Test cricket.
With one more match to go at The Oval, starting from Thursday, England will aim to draw the series at 2-2, a situation similar to the one they faced and emerged victorious from in the 2019 Ashes.
Ahead of the fifth Test, Alastair Cook, England’s highest run-scorer in Tests, spoke exclusively to Ians about the Ashes and how the hosts could have won the series.
Here are excerpts from the interview:
Q. What are your views on the ongoing Ashes, which has been a very thrilling and exciting series to watch till now?...

Wellington, March 1 (Ians) England coach Brendon McCullum is confident that Test skipper Ben Stokes’ involvement in the Ipl 2023 for Chennai Super Kings will not jeopardise his participation in the Ashes this summer as has put faith in the franchise to keep the star all-rounder fit for the series against England.
Stokes struggled with his left knee during England’s one-run defeat by New Zealand in the second Test. He was only able to bowl two overs and then struggled physically while batting on the final day.
The 31-year-old scored 33 from 116 balls as England fell agonisingly short of their target of 258 in one of the greatest finishes in Test history.
Speaking at the end of the second Test, Stokes admitted to finding it “very frustrating” that he could not play a full part, particularly as the fourth seamer, but quashed the idea he would turn his back on the Ipl.

A little over two weeks have passed since the art installation Pussy Riot: Putin’s Ashes closed in Los Angeles. Now sources in the Russian media report that the activist-art group’s Nadya Tolokonnikova may face criminal charges in Russia for staging it.
“My job is to hurt Putin as much as possible, and [the threat of lawsuits] means that he and people around him are actually getting hurt by Putin’s Ashes, so that’s great news,” Tolokonnikova tells Rolling Stone in a Wednesday Zoom interview. “I’ll keep doing my work and keep pushing.

Amanda Kloots, the wife of the late Broadway actor Nick Cordero, opened up on Instagram a month after her husband’s death. Kloots admits that it has been understandably difficult coping with Cordero’s death and was emotional in a series of Instagram story posts.
“I’ve literally felt like I can’t even function,” she admitted. She said that at times she is “in a fog” and feels like she doesn’t know what she’s doing or saying. “Thank God for my brother and sister-in-law because they’ve rescued me and Elvis a lot,” she said.
She shared it was “beyond surreal and horrible” when she picked up the ashes of her late husband. However, there was a sense of light and optimism in Kloots. “A good friend of mine said some beautiful advice: ‘look at it as you have him with you now,'” said Kloots, “which...

Another week of America’s Got Talent: The Champions brought another series of questionable decisions made by the judges.
Howie Mandel was in possession of this week’s Golden Buzzer, and while I don’t blindly agree with every decision he makes (Hans!!!), I still believe in his right to choose. Sadly, Simon Cowell took that right from him midway through Monday’s episode, reaching across the table and slamming his hand down on the Golden Buzzer in support of — wait for it — Boogie Storm.

The greatest incentive for winning The Voice isn't the automatic fanbase, it's the recording deal with Universal Music Group and $100,000 cash prize. While none of the first-place contestants of the hit NBC show have seen the extraordinary levels of success that American Idol's Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have experienced, many of them are thriving in their music careers. We're thinking of Jordan Smith, who penned Céline Dion's "Ashes," and Cassadee Pope, who's made a name for herself as a female country artist.
If you've ever wondered what happened after you downloaded all those iTunes covers and voted during the live shows, here's the scoop on The Voice's past winners.

Hollywood awards often slap the stud: denying awards to male sex symbols, perhaps because entertainers who are desirable to women aren’t taken as seriously by the predominantly male industry establishment. But the reverse could be true at the Grammys this year. In an unlikely turn of events, three actors who have been named Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine over the years could win music’s biggest prize for the first time: Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
Cooper is the highest-profile of the three this year since he’s currently a contender for multiple Oscars for writing, directing, producing and starring in the musical drama “A Star is Born.” The lead single from the soundtrack, “Shallow” with Lady Gaga, earned him Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The Grammys’ visual media-related categories tend to be buried as you scroll through the list of hundreds of Grammy nominations, but they represent some of the key music flashpoints of the past 12 to 15 months. There was probably no musical moment that put more chills down more spines than Keala Settle and a backing ensemble’s performance of “This Is Me” in “The Greatest Showman” or on the film’s soundtrack. Does the single peaking at No. 58 in the U.S. reflect that? Obviously not. The Carters’ “Apes**T” didn’t make the top 10, either, but if there were a scientific chart for memes, it would have been No. 1 with a bullet. If the sight of Jay-z and Beyoncé draping themselves across every nook and cranny of the Louvre didn’t set off a ton of “How did they do that?” talk in your immediate circle, you may be hanging out around the wrong water cooler.

Monday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the 15 tracks that have been shortlisted for the Best Original Song Oscar this year. And while there were a handful of head-scratching omissions (from heavyweights like Céline Dion’s “Ashes” to soul-stirring dark horses like the title track from “Hearts Beat Loud”), the songs that are still in contention represent one of the strongest fields in recent memory. The remaining tunes represent a wide variety of musical styles, running the gamut from country to hip hop, from a Disney ballad to a smirking parody of Disney ballads, and from superhero epics to “A Star Is Born.”
Here are the 15 tracks that are still in the running for Best Original Song, ranked from worst to best.
15. “I’ll Fight” (Diane Warren)

It’s that time of year when those of us who vote for movie awards such as the Broadcast Film Critics Association become accustomed to hearing the sound of delivery trucks stopping as drivers drop off parcels holding screeners of possible contenders. But publicity elves are also busy shipping various promotional items, whose value obviously is capped as to not qualify as an outright bribe. I don’t know how many moleskin notebooks I’ve gotten over the years usually tied to movies about writers of some sort, but most of us barely know how to put pen to paper anymore now that technology has taken over. Then there is sheet music that tends to be signed by either Diane Warren or Common of late. This year’s bounty so far shows a fair bit of ingenuity when it comes to items that you actually might appreciate or get a kick out of owning.

This Friday sees the release of “A Star Is Born” — otherwise known, in internet meme terms, as that movie where Bradley Cooper asks Lady Gaga to turn around so he can get another look at her. But Warner Bros. knows that people aren’t writing off its Oscar heavyweight as a joke; the studio knows that people are laughing with the movie, and not at it. And that’s because Lady Gaga won’t let us.
“Shallow” was probably always going to be a phenomenon, but not even Warner Bros. could have anticipated that even casual fans would know the words to this soaring power-balled before they ever saw “A Star Is Born,” or that the music video they slapped together for it would amass more than nine million views in less than 100 hours. Written by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt, the song is a sublime vehicle for Gaga’s voice,...

For such an eclectic cast of X-Men wannabees and supercharged mutants, Rob Delaney’s regular old Peter soon became the breakout star of Deadpool 2 due to his wonderfully modest nature.
He has no powers to speak of, mind you, but that doesn’t curb his enthusiasm – nor does it discourage the Merc With a Mouth from welcoming Peter into the X-Force, where he joins the likes of Shatterstar, Bedlam, Domino, and the vomit-spewing Zeitgeist.
The duo clearly hit it off behind the scenes, too, as Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter just yesterday to share a new pic of Rob Delaney’s unlikely hero in honor of Canada Day. Going one step further, the Deadpool 2 marketing team also unveiled a close-up of a battle-ready Merc via Instagram (h/t ComicBook.com) replete with the caption: “Happy day to the great country who gave us Ryan Reynolds.”

Once you recover from all the gore and severed limbs flying this way and that in Deadpool 2, you can step back and appreciate just how incredible the antihero film's soundtrack really is. Songs like Celine Dion's "Ashes," Dolly Parton's "9 to 5," and even "Tomorrow" from Annie accompany some of the movie's most violent scenes, making for a delightfully weird playlist. There's even an emotional cover of A-Ha's "Take on Me" that will bring you to tears, so check out all of the songs ahead!

She's back! Céline Dion previously announced to fans on March 21 that she had no choice but to cancel her upcoming shows for ear surgery to fix an uncomfortable condition in her inner ear, but now, after two months, she's finally returned to the stage. The diva kicked off her Las Vegas show on Tuesday, May 22, with a standing ovation. "You know it’s been a while since we’ve done a show I had a little health issue — don’t we all," she told the excited crowd. "But I have to tell you, I’m extremely happy to be back. The stage is kind of my home away from home and I have to admit I can barely stand on my feet tonight as I am a little bit nervous." Céline performed 'Ashes', from the @deadpoolmovie, live for the first time last night on her return on stage...

Remember when everyone said that Infinity War was the most ambitious crossover event in history? Well, Celine Dion and Deadpool may have just upstaged the Avengers with their epic performance in the ridiculous music video for "Ashes." Seriously, we can't stop cracking up after seeing Deadpool perform an interpretive dance to Dion's passionate power ballad. Never in a million years could we have imagined the foul-mouthed mercenary joining forces with the Canadian queen of powerhouse vocalists.
Is this all just fun and games, though? Will we actually see the pop chanteuse in the upcoming Deadpool movie? We can only hope!
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, David Leitch, the director behind Deadpool 2 and the hilarious music video, explained that he "wanted to create an original thematic song for the film that sort of was an emotional through-line for the characters."

With Season 4 set to debut in November, premium cabler boss Chris Albrecht unsurprisingly kept his word from TCA this January when he told critics and fans “I wouldn’t worry” about the very well watched Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan starring time travel romance drama based on Diana Gabaldon getting at least two more seasons.

Last week 20th Century Fox released the official music video of Celine Dion singing the Deadpool 2 song "Ashes". If you haven't seen that yet, you really need to watch it. If you haven't seen it, then you're sure to enjoy this fun behind-the-scenes video. In it, Deadpool gives an overview of the making of the music video and making sure that he ups his game for it. One of the ways he prepared to pull off those dance moves was having five of his bones removed from his body. Then at one point, Celine Dion feels him up.
I also included a new promo for the film that features Deadpool telling you how much he loves Canada and amusingly points out all of the countries benefits. Ryan Reynolds is Canadian, so it makes sense that he would want to praise the motherland in some Deadpool 2 marketing. Enjoy!

Editor’s Note: This article is presented in partnership with Bleecker Street’s release of “Anthropoid,” directed by Sean Ellis and starring Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy. “Anthropoid” is now playing in theaters.
This week, “Anthropoid” looks to join the ranks of a rich and complex cinematic history: films about World War II. A global conflict that has yielded global stories, World War II continues to be the basis for films that challenge our perceptions. “Anthropoid” uncovers an episode from before the fighting stopped, focusing on the attempt to assassinate high-ranking SS General Reinhard Heydrich. Writer/Director Sean Ellis uses the true-life mission as a backdrop for a talented ensemble, including Cillian Murphy, Jamie Dornan and Toby Jones.
The best of these modern WWII films never lose sight of the idea that this was a conflict fought by individuals. Their weapons and their ideologies were varied, but this was history...
