The Air Force pilot and Chief Master Sergeant both have beards and that is not regulation. Facial hair can interfere with the seal of a pilot's oxygen mask, which could be disastrous at high altitudes. In addition, beards can make it difficult to put on a headset or helmet properly, which can impede communication with air traffic control. The Master Sergeant could have stubble if he has has a skin condition otherwise, while in uniform, he should be clean shaven.
